Doing what: Beatles and Liverpool Rail Day Trip from London
Self-guided tour, with minimal interaction with tour operator. The Beatles Story museum is well presented. The Mystery Tour bus tour stops or drives by many historically relevant Beatles sites. Return to LIverpool should be earlier or additional afternoon activities included.

Doing what: Beatles and Liverpool Rail Day Trip from London
The Beatles Story, Magical Mystery Tour, and train ride was great. We had a fantastic time. The agent we met at Euston Train Station gave us an inadequate map and told us we were on our own. Fortunately, we were able to purchase a good map of Liverpool at the train station. The walk from the train station was confusing, but there were signs pointing to Albert Dock, and it is hard to miss. Once we found everything, the visit was very good. We enjoyed the visit to the Cavern Club. There is a very good Irish Pub with good prices past the Cavern Club. Our train ride going and returning was very pleasant.

Doing what: Beatles and Liverpool Rail Day Trip from London
A must for true Beatles fans. Very relaxing and comfortable train ride, even though it was only standard class. Once in Liverpool, ample time to explore on your own, then on to the magical mystery tour! Great guides and they stop at all the important places for photos! Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, Boyhood home, ETC. The guides were entertaining as well. Time in the afternoon to go to the museum, and cavern club.

Doing what: Beatles and Liverpool Rail Day Trip from London
Met the representative at the station in the morning, but he didn't have a company plaquenametag like they said he would. We only picked him out because we saw another couple approach him and he gave them a packet. Liverpool was kinda dirty compared to London, we didn't spend much time exploring the city. We walked straight down to the docks took 15mins from station and went in the Beatles museum, which was really cool. Then the Magical Mystery Tour at 12pm, which departed by the docks. The tour was great, they stop at all the main sites for you to get out and take pictures Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, and each of the Beatles' childhood houses. We even had a guy hop on the bus for a few minutes who was there the day Lennon and McCartney first met and he recounted his story. The tour ended at the Cavern Club around 2pm, so if you want to go back to the docks to see the maritime museum or other attractions, you have to walk back again probably 10min walk. We weren't in the mood to do much else after the tour, it was raining and we were tired. We walked back to the station to see if we could take an earlier train. The tour operator scheduled us on the 648pm train and were told no by a crabby ticket agent. To kill some time we ate and went to the art museum, but even after that we still had 2 more hours to go. Finally we approached a train representative and she kindly validated us on the next train out without any problems, so we were back in London by the time the original train would've been leaving Liverpool. All in all the Beatles portions were excellent!

Doing what: Beatles and Liverpool Rail Day Trip from London
We went on this tour because my husband is a big Beatles fan. We had no problem meeting with the tour representative and getting our tour tickets. The train ride was pleasant. The Beatles Story was a great little museum and the guide on the Magical Mystery Tour was great. We had a lot of free time, but unfortunately there's not much to do in Liverpool other than learn about the Beatles. We ended up back at the train station about an hour and a half before the train was due to leave.

Doing what: Beatles and Liverpool Rail Day Trip from London
I would recommend this tour for anyone who is a Beatles fan. First, I thought they did an excellent job making train arrangements for me to commute from London to Liverpool at a price that was lower than prices quoted on internet through train lines themselves.
The settings of the Cavern Club, TWA jet the Beatles flew in to New York, Yellow Submarine, etc in the Beatles Experience Museum were outstanding in their detail and related information. The Magical Mystery Tour bus ride was not only informative about the Beatles lives and how Liverpool influenced some of the lyrics in their songs, but also a great way to see some of the city.

Tour went well - very overpriced however. The agent we met at Eustonprovided lots of detail and all required documents (printed out off a computer) and was very helpful. The two hour Magical Mystery Tour in Liverpool is OK, not great, OK. The Beatles museum is very good. You can book that tour for considerably less doing it yourself. Total admissions were about 40 GPB plus the train ride per person.
