Doing what: London Full-Day Sightseeing Tour

The guide and the driver were excellent representatives of their country and of their company. I think all of us tourists enjoyed the historical information the guide imparted, and the joviality of both men. Also, the Tower of London Beefeater was particularly funny. A real actor! I was disapointed that we didn't see the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. I think traffic caused us to be late. Maybe the tour operator should allow more time to get there.

Doing what: London Pass

The London Pass is not for everyone. If you are a planner, this card is for you. For the price, you really do have to hit 3 big sites a day to make it worth the money - not counting museums as they are free. It is great for Fast Pass and ease of use. It is highly recognized at the sites and understood by everyone. The guide books are great for the trip and kids love to read about the locations before we go or to help pick between two sites. Kids, also, love the lanyards. The pins were unnecessary in our experience. The free entry and discounts are as described on the London Pass's website. We even did a few of the less visited things and they were the highlights of our trip...Kensington Palace tour and the Brass Rubbing at St. Martin in the Fields. By keeping track of the price of each attraction for my family of 6 and deciding which of the big attractions we wanted to see in advance, we used every penny we spent on the card and saved $255 more. I will say we were very disappointed with the Globe Theater. It was a total waste of time and money. We went twice, the reproduction theater was closed (not on website) both times and we spent the equivalent of 72 Pounds to see a 10 minute walk-around exhibit. Absolute disappointment and the employees were rude and arrogant about the importance "Exhibition." The HMS Belfast was also a bit of a disappointment but as we had the London Pass, we didn't feel like it was a waste. Also, there are some attractions like the London Eye, Ripley's, The London Dungeon and Madame Tussaud's that have teamed up together and are not on the London Pass. We paid out of pocket for two of those and it would have been nice if they were included. They were very expensive and the line for the Eye was 30+ minutes long. The London Pass would have earned 5 Stars from me if the Eye, Ripley's, LD and MT's were part of the bargain as well...or for a little more money.

Doing what: London Full-Day Sightseeing Tour

An excellent way to see the highlights of London. Our guide was good and very knowlegable on the history of London. Had a private tour of the London Tower, excellent. Short boat trip along the Thames to be picked up again by the bus. Our guide said he had the right spot to see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace and he was correct. Had an excellent view away from most of the other tourists. We didn't go on the London Eye optional as we did this ourselves the previous day.
An enjoyable way to see the highlights of London.

Doing what: London Pass

Good and bad, I have mixed feelings about this. Most museums are free. Attactions here such as: Tower of London, City Cruise, Westminster Abby, St. Paul Cathedral, Kenginton Palace, Wimbledon, Hamption Court Palace, and Winsdor Castle are good use. However, it still doesn't cover famous attractions such as London Eye, the Parliament, etc where you still need to get your own tickets. If you would like to visit attractions offered through London Pass, sure, it's worth buying. But if your focus are shopping, Borough's Market, Camden Market, Covent Garden, famous pubs, etc. Then, you don't need London Pass. I suggest that you first determine what you want to do and visit in London first and then decide if London Pass will save you money.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Hampton Court Palace Tickets

Hampton Court Palace is well worth a visit and an easy commut by train from London. The only down side for us was that we did not get to enjoy the gardens as we would have liked to as it started to rain.

It was fantastic. Took two young girls - 13 and 16 - my goddaughters, to see it and they were thrilled to see the palace and the exhibit of Princesss Diana's dresses. We arrived very much at the end of the day so there were no crowds left, and we were able to see it at leisure, after a packed day that began with the Women's Olympic Marathon viewed from Tower Hill. They had come from Canada and I ffrom Brussels to spend the weekend in London taking in the Olympic atmosphere, and it certainly charmed them.

Doing what: Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle Day Trip from London

Our guide David was just excellent, he was so informative and had a wonderful sense of humour. Got an added surprise at Windsor Castle to see the Changing of the Guard. I felt we were a bit rushed and would have liked a bit more time for buying souveniers etc at Windsor Castle. Also it was quite surreal to walk through the state rooms at Buckingham Palace. Would highly recommend Viator.

Doing what: Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle Day Trip from London

A real eye-opener to see the opulence and wealth inside Buckingham Palace State Rooms. Good to see the garden at the back also. Enjoyed seeing Windsor Castle - so very pretty countryside around the Castle.

We were very happy with the tour of the Royal Palaces through Viator. It was uncomplicated with the voucher and had a very enjoyable tour.

Doing what: Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle Day Trip from London

Started off at Windsor Castle. After the tour through the castle not a great deal of time to walk around Windsor before getting back on the bus. Then on to Buckingham Palace and you are on your own after that.

At first I was a little put off that there were no actual tour guides but then, to my surprise, the audio guide was quite good. The palace is amazing and a must for any Tudor history fan. I loved it. Beware of the pub across the road though - the food was awful.
