The tour was amazing from the food at the pub to Stonehenge. The only thing to check is if the Baths are open, the baths actually close at 5 and depending on the route you may not make it there in time.
This is such a great tour - though it's long and you have to wake up early, it's totally worth it. I definitely recommend who anyone who has not been to Windsor or Stonehenge. Our tour guide is so knowledgeable and btw...there's wifi on the bus which was very very cool.
I loved the tour! I was very lucky in that I was the only person who signed up for this day, so it was really a private tour. Rachael was our driver and Dale was the guide and we had a fun day. I knew a little about Stonehenge, but Dale was really able to flesh out the details that are known and gave me a lot of theories as to its origins. I have used Viator for other tours in other countries and have never been disappointed.
Excellent tour....I definitely recommend this day trip. Only negative was the weather at Stonehenge, but I know that can't be controlled! Our tour guide was very informative and I learned a lot on the bus ride to and from Bath. He gave us great tips for what to see and do at each location. We had just enough time at each stop to see everything. The day went by very quickly.
It was a great day. Dan was our guide and was super knowledgable. I would have liked a little more time at Stonehenge. Our guide was excellent at keeping everyone on time, which I appreciate. Its a big bus so a lot of people were on our tour but it was very nice. Dan gave us a walking tour of Bath and it was lovely!
Doing what: Stonehenge and Bath Day Trip from London
We went to three fascinating locations in the UK. Our guide was excellent and provided a wealth of information. We were most impressed with Windsor Castle and Bath. Stonehenge was less than overwhelming but interesting.
Be prepared for a LONG but INCREDIBLE day! Being in a tour group really helped move the experience along quickly. Windsor Castle was lovely. The time flew by really fast, we skipped a lot of things, but got a good sense of the grounds best to start at the state apartments right away!. Would definitely come back to just explore more on my own. Stonehenge was amazing to see in person. Bath was a wonderful town. We rushed and JUST made it in time to get into the ancient baths. Afterwards it was fun to explore the town. Again, would come back to Bath for sure to spend more time exploring. There was so much to see and very little time! Denisa was a great guide who moved things along very well. Thanks!
Great tour. Suggest to give a little more time to Windsor Castle, than Bath and Stonehenge. Thanks a lot.
The tour was a nice pace. The tour of Windsor was very nice as the artwork in the areas open to the public is fantastic. The doll house exhibit was great too. We were lucky to be there on a Thursday so we were able to watch the changing of the guard. Stonehenge was all I had imagined. Our guide, Mark, did a nice job of sharing history and background before we arrived at each stop. The final stop in Bath was wonderful too. The tour was at a nice pace, and we had a little free time to explore the village. My 75 year old mother was with us and Mark was very accommodating to her needs.
Big day, excellent guide. Helped by great weather and a full bus load of people all being back at bus by requested time.
Sausage rolls on sale at Stonehenge were delicious.
Excellent tour, guide was informative and funny and we had plenty of time for roaming around Bath and Stonehenge. Bus was comfy too.
Doing what: Stonehenge and Bath Day Trip from London
This tour gave us a taste of many things, if you can go into this tour knowing you will want more time at all sites you will have a lovely day. Carol, our guide, was highly efficient and organized so we did not spend touring time with ticketing etc. Clive, our driver, delivered us comfortably and skillfully from place to place. We had great weather for this tour, the State Apartments at Windsor castle are stunning, we had a bonus event with the guard change, Stonehenge is interesting to see in the countryside, there is a visitor center, I chose to spend my time at the site and did not have time to review this. Lunch at The George was delicious I recommend the cottage pie and was waiting for us when we arrived. Bath is lovely also, we had a walk around the plaza and some shops and a glass of wine At the old bridge and enjoyed the sunset.
Our tour guide Rob was so good. Full of interesting information and funny too. This was such an amazing day. Typical English scenery and beautiful architecture. Stonehenge was somewhere I didn't get to see 28 years ago when I was last in UK and had always regretted. Well it did not disappoint. Amazing!!!
This is an action packed day. Windsor Castle was great, and it is good to get there first thing in the day. Stonehenge was wonderful even in the misty rain. I enjoyed the backroads tour to Bath, like a Sunday drive in the country. The pub lunch was good and very well organized considering they fed a bus load of people. Bath was pretty and the tour director was great. It certainly was a good overall England experience. If any place struck your fancy, you now had learned enough to go back and do it on your own.
We love the pace of the tour. Our guide Rowan sp? was so entertaining. She made the tour very educational and exciting. I highly recommend this tour, and with Rowan and her driver, I forget his name as guide. The only thing that kinda put a damper on the tour was the downpour at Stonehenge. But that's England for you. A
United States of America
A good day trip. We had sufficient time at Stonehenge. Could have used a little more to see the museum there. Plenty of time in Bath to visit the Roman Baths, have lunch and walk around the town. I would recommend this over tours with an additional stop. We didn't feel rushed.
Doing what: Stonehenge and Bath Day Trip from London
This was an amazing tour! We saw so much in one day, and it never felt too long, rushed or uncomfortable. The bus was very comfortable, and the tour guide made the ride very interesting. He was filled with incredible information, and was extremely professional and articulate. I was very impressed with him. We were given free time in every place that we stopped at, and we were also given audio guides at Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and at the Roman Baths entrance fee to the Roman baths was not included in the tour price. The pub lunch was very tasty we were able to choose from about 4 or 5 lunch/meal options...and the pub we went to was amazingly historical built in 1361!. The drinks were not included, so bring extra money for those. I would book this tour again in a heartbeat, and would also recommend it to anyone traveling to London.
This was perfect. Bus picked us up on time - EARLY and we drove out to Stonehenge - arrived around sunrise and were able to walk among the stones. If that wasn't a great trip - add in Lacock with a great breakfast and then tour the Roman Baths. Everything was great.
Everything was taken care of. The tour guide Roan sp? was absolutely great. She provided a great experience throughout and gave the whole trip an authentic British feel. Time on the bus was spent reviewing the history and what we were doing. Could have spent more time at each location and the weather could have been better absolute drenching at Stonehenge! but this 12-hour day was the best of my trip and I can't imagine it being any better.
Great tour, very informative, a lot of history and details, great guide - Trevor. Just like other reviews mentioned, wish we had more time in Bath and a bit less time in Stonehenge.
I took 3 different day trips with Viator while I was in Ireland/Scotland/London. This by far was the most informative, interesting tour of them all. Our guide was David - he is a brilliant person that was so interesting and funny that I even forgot to look out at the countryside while we were driving - he was captivating. I learned more in the 12 hours that I was with him then I ever learned in any of my history books lol. David is one of the few guides who is allowed in Windsor Castle-most guides give you an audio guide to listen to while you are in there. Stonehenge is a must see - and Bath is a lovely town. The lunch in Lacock was just ok - but the pub was old and a great place. A really enjoyable, informative day.
Excellent tour, all cramped in a day! Lacock was a quaint old village, Stonehenge was amazing
Never saw the Roman Baths as it was closed at 5pm and we arrived just after, abit disappointed for such a famous tourist destination, one would think it would open till 6?
We love Windsor Castle especially the Doll House collections
The tour guide and the driver were great !!! By the time we got to Stonehenge it was pouring rain but that just added to the mystery of the place. Had a very good time.
We had the best tour guide in the world, Rowan. She got us through Windsor Castle, beautiful Bath with time for great local ice cream cones, and Stonehenge in the rain. Always smiling, with time and patience and the knowledge to answer every question. We never felt rushed, and she ruled us with a firm but gentle hand. She was delightful. ROWAN, ROWAN, ROWAN!
The only dark spot was the start at Victoria Station. What a dump. Hopefully when Rowan is prime minister she can do something about it.
We highly enjoyed our day trip from London. Our guide Jose' was absolutely fantastic, engaging, and most importantly knowledgeable about all things London. He took time out to come down the coach and speak to each person on the tour and engage them with questions and asking for feedback / concerns. He, along with our driver Andreas made a perfect team A for the team!
On to the tour itself. We knew off the bat that the tour would not allow us much time in each of the 3 sites, but wanted to hit as many of the highlights as we were in England and this was one of the best ways to do it. We had approximately 2.5 hours in Windsor Castle, 1.5 hours each in Stonehenge and Bath. All in all we spent almost half of our day trip traveling, which was fine, as the coach was clean, air conditioned, and had Wifi for us to utilize when we weren't being entertained or taught by Jose'.
Of the three I personally enjoyed Stonehenge the best, I heard from several folks that you can't get up close to the area any longer, which was fine, but were were literally taken right up close and probably 20-30 feet away, which to me is close enough, especially in order to keep the site safe and around for thousands of years to come. 1.5 hrs was plenty of time to meander around the site, listen to the lovely audio guide and take lots of pictures. Windsor and Bath on the other hand would both have benefitted from additional time and are now on our lists of separate day trips when we inevitably return to London. Bath was such a lovely little city and after our tour of the Roman Baths we wanted to spend hours just meandering the streets and interacting with the locals, but that will have to wait until our next visit. Windsor was absolutely massive and a lovely site to behold. The audio guide was really in depth and I would have loved to have been able to spend more time there listening and experiencing the sites. Know going in what to expect so you are not disappointed in this trip!
