guide had alot to say but we couldnt understand most of it because of his accent. only 3 houses on trip could be seen properly the rest were behind trees and bushes, could have been anyones.would have been nice to be taken nearer to hollywood sign instead of taken to beverley hills sign for photo. on the plus side weather was lovely and the taxi driver from airport was very informative.

What a wonderfully funny and macabre tour! This is a great option for those of us who enjoy the sick and twisted and want to know all of Hollywood's dark (`sometimes hilarious) secrets. But this is definitely not the tour to take the kids or sweet grandma on - there are some truly disturbing images and stories! My tour guide had a lot of info and also shared funny celeb stories and more lighthearted fare along with all the gore. We got to see the house from Happy Days and heard about how Lucille Ball invited strangers in to her home while also hearing about the gruesome Black Dahlia murder and the Menendez brothers so it was a good balance. It was a really fun afternoon; I definitely recommend this tour.

Doing what: Dearly Departed: The Tragic History Tour of Los Angeles

This covers a bit of everything in LA, from the Hollywood sign, history and film stars homes and their exploits! So if you only have a short window to do it all in LA this is a must. It's a 4D experience and uses all the senses within a smaller bus which is more private and you get a sense of everything, as you hear and see the stories. Highly organised, highly researched, brilliant way to see LA. Would do it again!!

This tour is fantastic. Having been to LA many times I wasn't sure what to expect on this tour. But it was an absolute blast! Our guide was so enthusiastic you could feel his passion for the history of the Hollywood scandals. I highly recommend this tour whether it's your first time to LA or if you're a local.

The tour was great! The guide (Brian) was a pro at Hollywood history. He knew all the sites and had stories to back it up. The van was comfortable, clean, and air conditioned. I was worried about getting car sick but that didn't happen. The guide even offered the front seat. I took my family on the trip and they were all thanking me.

Doing what: Los Angeles City Tour and Movie Stars' Homes Tour

I've used Viator while traveling in other countries before - and comparably speaking, this was horrendous. The check in process was extremely disorganized.. From the time of our arrival, we waited a good 1 hour, before our tour guide finally got on the bus and introduced himself. He started by complaining about how tired he was, having only gotten 6 hours of sleep. After his lousy, narcissistic introduction, we walked back around and looked at the Chinese Theatre (where we had been waiting all that time) again for fifteen minutes. No description, nothing. Just, "Here it is. Meet me again in 15 minutes." After that, we finally got back on the bus and began the tour. Mind you this was now about 10:05 (and we had been instructed to arrive at 8:45 am) We drove to see the Hollywood sign. Then drove by all of the stars homes. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, but I couldn't help feeling that he was also completely full of crap. After seeing the stars homes, we drove down Rodeo Dr. Then, at 11:45, the driver/tour guide dropped us off at the Farmers market - again we were on our own. So, what was supposed to be a three-hour tour was actually more like an hour and forty minutes. After eating lunch on our own for 45 minutes, a different driver came to pick us up to return us to the Chinese Theatre. Again we waited on the hot bus for a good 20 minutes while this driver disappeared and came back having bought himself some lunch. My suggestion - buy yourself a good map of the stars homes and drive around to see them yourself!!! This will save you about $50 per person!

Doing what: Hollywood Strip Helicopter Tour

I am not happy with the Hollywood strip helicopter tour. When I got to Los Angeles I phoned them to verify my trip. They told me that they would pick me up at my hotel at 9am on Thursday 24 November for a 10am flight.
On November 23rd they phoned me on my UK phone and US phone and hotel to tell me that they had no Pilots to take me on my tour. They told me they could take me on the tour on Friday 25 November but I could not do this date as I have another trip planned for this day and could not take the tour on this day.
They told me that this was the only day that i could take the tour. I told them that i had booked the tour months ago and they should have known this was a holiday in the US.
In the end i phoned Viator and they manage to get them to take me on the tour on November 23rd.
When the car came to the hotel it was not what they said it would be. It was a small car. On the web page it said that I would be picked up by a luxury PT Cruiser complete with a stocked minibar, snacks and other limousine accoutrements. This was not the case. Also as for (The tour includes a unique souvenir T-shirt and framed photograph to remind you of your scenic flight over Hollywood.) I did not get this and will be phoning them up to find out where it is as i have paid for this which was not cheap.
I would not recommend this tour to anyone I know.

Doing what: Los Angeles City Tour and Movie Stars' Homes Tour

Really enjoyed our Hollywood tour from 'Stan the Man.' Friendly, informative and extremely knowledgable. We did a half day tour, as we felt that a full day would have been a bit much. Think it was a good decision, as it was very hot, although the air conditioning in the van was fine.

Dearly Departed Tour is a fantastic ride back through the tragadies of Hollywood. Our guide was so knowledgable and enthusiastic that we came away with a greater passion for Hollywood...thaks so much.

The tour was interesting with a lot to see on a whirlwind drive around Hollywood and other parts of the LA area. Our tour guide was knowledgeable but the tour could have been improved with a checklist of places that we could coordinate with our photos later.

I have lived in SoCal for 55 years. Thought I'd seen it all. This tour went above and beyond my highest expectations. Brian kept us amazed for two hours. This tour is a must for anyone who enjoys the scandalous side of Hollywood. I could not recommend any tour more highly.

So I grew up in LA. And I never, ever could figure out the appeal of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. What - movie stars putting their hands and feet in cement? Which then got trampled on, spat on, slept on - c'mon people, it's just a sidewalk! But then, a few years ago, I took an out-of-town friend and his kids to explore Hollywood. One of the kids, about age 10, stopped dead in his tracks and dropped to the sidewalk. What - an earthquake drill? No. It was the footprints of R2D2 from the Star Wars movies. The kid was freaking out, R2D2, ohmygawd, it's RD2D daddy! It was then I realized the genius of the Walk of Fame. You may not care about 99 percent of the stars ensconced in cement. But the 1 percent you do care about, that's Hollywood marketing magic.

Doing what: Los Angeles City Tour and Movie Stars' Homes Tour

Don't think we got what it said on the page !!! Didn't see Los Angeles City at all ! Only got taken to Hollywood sign, Chinese theatre and stars' homes. Had another tour 2 days later with another company and this really showed up how bad this tour was. Tour guide was rather more interested in talking about himself. Rather got the impression that the head office had put us on the wrong bus !!
