Doing what: The Queen Mary
The administration at this venue was shocking. We went to collect the headsets only to find that the person wasn't there and had gone missing. We were on a tight schedule which isn't advised if you're wanting to make the most of this trip.
We went on the Russian submarine, did the self tour around the ship and had the most amazing guide to take us around the ship and explaining the various rooms. He was very knowledgeable and made the tour particularly interesting.
You could easily spend a whole day on this tour.

Doing what: The Queen Mary
Very interesting. I knew a veteran who had crossed over to Europe during WWII on the Queen Mary. After touring the ship myself, I was better able to understand what the veteran had experienced.

Wonderful day out. Our guide even gave us extra time on The Queen Mary. This is the one to experience the differences in beach culture in LA. Venice beach is a real eye opener-not to be missed. Great commentary and guide would fully recommend.

Our Tour Guide was a retired captain who knew the history of the boat and may tales and myths of life on board. His ability to relate myths and facts in an engaging way held everyone entranced for the whole tour.

I thoroughly enjoyed my tour of the Queen Mary in Long Beach. Our guide was a plethora of knowledge on the history of the ship. The condition of the ship is pristine. 5 stars!

Our California Beach Cities Day Trip (incorporating the Queen Mary tour) was excellent. My wife and myself were fortunate that we had a private tour just ourselves and Richard, our driver and guide. Apart from being a very nice person, Richard was also very knowledgable and nothing was too much trouble for him. The car was very comfortable and we felt very safe and secure with Richard. He was very punctual and also, because there was only the 3 of us, very flexible. I would certainly recommend Viator Tours and we give our tour 5 stars.

We had a very pleasant flight over the south beaches and a nice view over marvelous houses. We were lucky that our pilot spoke German too!

This was the only thing we missed. The half day fishing trip did not allow us to do both. I will rate it ok only because a rating is required.

Found the tour to be a very nice way to while away an afternoon. There were 4 of us with "First Class" tickets to the QM, Scorpion Sub, and a couple of the tours.
We happened to be there when American Idol was taping a show so some areas were off limits, but if you enjoy learning a bit of history and exploring a ship and sub, then by all means go for it.

Pretty cool experience being at the Queen Mary. The Ghost tour was pretty scary but overall enjoyed it a lot.

Doing what: Los Angeles Beach Cities Helicopter Flight
Exciting flight, but NOT what I paid for. My tour was supposed to be over Hollywood & LA, not Pacific Palisades. I was on vacation from New Jersey, and I was very excited about the tour. But our driver was an hour late. You would think that, being from the LA area, he would allow for traffic. Guess not. Then, instead of the tour over LA and Hollywood that I paid for, because there was not enough time they took us over the Pacific Palisades area, and the flight only lasted about 20 minutes instead if the 35 minutes it was supposed to be.
Note from Viator: Apologies Ken, it looks like you may have booked the wrong helicopter tour. We do also offer a Hollywood helicopter tour (click here for Viator's complete list of LA helicopter tours) that covers the attractions you mention; unfortunately the helicopter tour you booked is focused on the Los Angeles South Bay and on LA area beaches. Apologies again that the LA helicopter tour didn't completely live up to your expectations.

The ticketing process was very confusing as you had to wait in line at the Queen Mary instead of being able to go right in. The submarine that I included in the tour was listing and taking on water so we could not visit that at all. Other information about the various parts of the tour were difficult to obtain and there were no instructions to direct us to certain tours, etc. I was very disappointed in purchasing the tours ahead of time as a lot of the items were not possible to do and so it was a waste of money. Very disorganized and disappointing.
