only had a couple of days in Los Angeles and so did the grand tour which consisted of main tourist attractions from 9am to 3.15pm and then changed vehicle to do the movie stars homes. I found the first tour informative and interesting, the guide was knowledgeable and spoke very well. I wish I could say the same for the guide that took the second part of the tour, it started by us not being able to use a "topless bus" as she explained that two of the guests had to go to Pasadena. She was new at this whole thing and kept bringing her private life into her commentary which I found annoying. She would tell us all to look up and then laugh and say, "oh yeah you cant see with this bus" but then would continue to tell us what we couldnt see. I didnt find her to show us anything of relevance as most of the houses she showed us "used to" belong to such and suchor she would stop at the entrance of a street and tell us who lived or used to live in that street..... on the whole, if you do book this extra part of the tour, get a guarantee that you will have an experienced guide and a "topless" bus.
Okay, but not what I was expecting. Good tour to get a brief overview, but everything goes by very quick, or is in the distance, no good for details, or photos, I could not see very well out of the window.
Not a Great experience. Grand Tour was OK but Hollywood Stars Homes was weak - not many names attached to homes, didn't go to Playboy mansion or Spelling's ex-home, open top bus and we were so cold by the end, we couldn't speak. Tour guide for older demographic only - dreary to be honest. Grand Tour Tour Guides puts so much pressure on you to tip it is embarrassing and stressful.
Not as good as the NYC tour we did but comprehensive. Movie star house tour was good and guide very amusing.
Never expect about 50% drive pass kind of tour. Nevertheless, tour guide is really knowledgable and professional.
difficult for company as roads were close due to a premiere and a triatholon! they made the most of it and would recommed as a good introduction to Los Angeles. tour guide friendly and extremely knowledgable
A good way to see LA at a glance. Our group was rather big though, that the stops were a bit short. Tour also started late so our guide seemed to speed things up. Everything passed quickly, it felt like one big blur.
Good to see the major attractions. It woulld be better to walk at the start of tour to see Kodak Theatre.
If you really want to see LA and Hollywood take the Hop on and off tour. This tour includes a lot of time stuck inside a coach with brief stops. Some of the stops were interesting but rushed.
A poorly organised, in fact chaotic, start, with no-one taking responsibility; a guide whom we couldn't hear when outside, who in fact never bothered to see if we were even all there before he started speaking; far too much time wasted circling the block to find a parking space at the end of the first part; a coach where the microphone was unreliable; a constant changing of plan for joining the second part of the tour.
Didn't enjoy this tour very much because my husband and I found it quite boring. The guide was more like a school teacher in charge of preschool kids rather than a tour guide.Would not recommend this for people who get bored easily.
A good tour, but note that this company has an aggressive tipping policy, The coach for the first part of the tour made it clear that 10-15% is expected as a tip and the bus for the second part of the tour had a notice which specified the tip $10 - $20 depending on the enjoyment, good, excellent etc. I even heard the driver ask a passenger "do you have my tip".

Would have preferred a smaller group. The tour guide Rob was really good but needed a louder voice for everyone to hear.
The tour was fine--we got to see the highlights. I thought it was strange that our 2nd stop was right back at the Kodak theatre where we started the tour, but oh well. The major disappointment was our guide Brandon. He didn't have very much, interesting or insightful to say, and only seemed to to know the very basic info about the buildings we were visiting. I would recommend the tour, but beware if you get Brandon as the guide!
