With Lent right around the corner, devout Christians know that this upcoming Wednesday marks the beginning of some personal sort of abstention with which to honor the upcoming Easter holiday. And while we all may not share these theological beliefs, we are all aware of the tradition of Fat Tuesday and its historical debauch before relinquishing our much loved vices for forty days come Ash Wednesday.

Why not spend the last days of indulgence, then at Los Angeles’ Original Farmer’s Market which totes not only some of Los Angeles best food stalls, but also an array of unique merchant experiences.

The Lovell’s traditional Barbershop Club, Camper shoes, trendy design-studio Designer Details, Gadget Nook, and much much more all lie in store for the casual anytime visitor, but this upcoming Tuesday, March 8th the market features live Cajun and Zydeco music including Grammy-nominated Lisa Haley & The Zydekats, parade bands and Carni-Gras, a special fusion of Brazilian Carnival and Mardi Gras. This is also a notable family event as the there will be special ‘kid-friendly’ activities like bead-throwing , face-painting, crazy hat decorating, and shaker-making workshops.

The Market is located at 6333 W. Third, on the corner of  Third and Fairfax and identifiable by the big Farmer’s Market Bell Tower. It’s the 22nd annual celebration and the long-time market’s most celebrated event – sure to be a pleaser for both singles and large families alike.
