With a handy international airport nearby and a necklace of luxury hotels lining the coastline, Los Cabos is no longer an out-of-the-way holiday spot. Cabo San Lucas is the traditional heart of the area; nearby San José del Cabo is the smaller, quieter section of Los Cabos.

Over the past 20 years, Todos Santos has witnessed an invasion from the north as well-heeled New Mexico artists, organic farmers and even some Hollywood types have snapped up property and put down roots.
