While the tour was excellent I do not recommend doing the day and night tour the same day. I would suggest doing the night tour first then the day tour. But both are worthwhile experiences.

Doing what: Hot Air Balloon Flight Over Luxor West Bank and Nile River
The Hot Air Balloon ride was one of the best things I did on my trip to Egypt. Viator made if very easy to reserve a spot before leaving the US. If you are going in the off seasonsummer you can save yourself some money and make this reservation with your hotel or a private company and save a lot of money.

Our tour guide was just okay. I felt that she was a little more than a supplement to a good guide book and little research. Both the East and West Bank of Luxor are very easy to tour on your own. I wish we had saved the money and just hired a cab to take us to the temples like we did on our second day when we saw the west bank.

The temples are beautiful. Amazing that they were built by hand. Alot more inpressive than the Pyraminds of Gaza. Bring alot of film.

Again the tour guide was very good and the tour company very reliable. The tour gives an excellent overview of the temples and their art and history. Since the temples are close by, it is easy to go back alone and explore further having been given a solid background.

We enjoyed the sights and our guide was wonderful. I just wish we hadn't taken the tour at 1:00 in the afternoon. It was 116 degrees, but it was absolutely worth it.

The tour is great, sightseeing is amazing and the tour guide is very patient. The only down side is the food on board is quite boring, almost the same everyday. Apart from that everything is great!

I recommend the show, the temples partially illuminated at night look amazing. If you're staying on the East Bank which you probably will, I think it's better to go by yourself, the tickets are sold in Karnak, you can buy them early that day, just try to bargain a taxi or a carriage, you find them anywhere in the city.

Packed full of interesting tours while at the same time plenty of time to relax and enjoy the cruise. Food was great with plenty of dishes to choose at each meal and plenty of variety across meals. We had a dedicated guide for the 2 of us so we could see as much or as little as we wanted and vary our program to suit and our guide helped us with our extras like train tickets and finding ATM and pharmacy. Cruise staff helpful and friendly.

It was a fantastic trip that we had wanted to make for many years. The monuments of Upper Egypt are definitely worth seeing. We went at Easter and at that time of year there are hordes of tourists like us! But it was still great. The boat was very nice and food better than expected. The local travel company was very correct and reliable in its dealings with us.

The flight itself was perfect and the pilot seemed to be very profesional. BUT - in Viator website, it is written that the flight is 1.5-2 hours, while the flight duration was actualy 40 minutes. Second, after the flight, the crew perform one-minute-chicken-dance in order to ask for tips. It is not neccesary, and it just perpetuates the feeling that everything in Egypt is done in order to ask for additional money.

On the date of taking this trip we were picked up at 1pm which was very very hot. Our tour guide was very good, and booked another trip to vist the Luxor museam which is very worthwhile.
