Lyon is famous for its bouchons, restaurants that serve traditional Lyonnaise cuisine. You can select a 'menu du jour', which is usually 3 courses, and a 'pot' of the local wine is usually quite a good drop. You won't be able to shop, anyway, all the locals will have shut up shop for lunch!
