We bought a two-day pass and used the bus the first day as a way to get a sense of the city as a whole, then used it the second day as a way to get to the sights we wanted to get out and explore. The only drawback was that sometimes the upper level was full full and it's hard to see the sights from the lower level.

This is a well worth tour, it help us see the sights and places to go we used it like a normal bus get a two day ticket worth the money, We felt route 1 was more interesting than route 2. Nice to see Madrid at night,

This proved to be a very easy way of getting an overview of the historic centre of Madrid and, in fact, of finding how very walkable is this part of the city. We had intended to use the ' hop on/hop off' feature but felt that, other than the round trip, we had no need. On the ground the stages are not easily identified. Luckily our hotel was close to the Prado and we found stage 1 quite easily.
