Great trip, enjoyed the visit to Avila and Segovia very much. Happy that I went.
I understand that we were under time constraint but I wish the tour would slow down a bit for the older and less fit tour members who struggled to keep up and I also wish we had spent more than 10 minutes at the gift shop/relic shop in Avila so we could buy some souvenirs.
Great tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and I loved that she gave all the information in both English and Spanish. We really enjoyed it. I do wish we had had some free time in Avila (15 minutes would have been enough) but overall it was a terrific experience and we would definitely recommend it!
Arturo was a very knowledgeable guide. We saw the walls and convent of St. Theresa in Avila. Lunch was OK. The service was excellent and it was very fast so we could continue with the tour. Segovia was beautiful. The aqueduct is a marvel and Alcazar is beyond belief. A great tour.
It was an OK sort of a tour. The places are nice and the tour guide very knowledgeable but she wasn't really keen on engaging the group. Besides, the English followed by Spanish explanations would break the flow everytime. OK to do but you could also look at other options.
The tour was excellent. The guide was a very nice lady, very polite and gave us a lot of good information. (I am sorry I forgot her name). She gave exactly the same info in Spanish and English ( I am bilingual and could check, lol).
We visited Avila first, I enjoyed the most visiting the daily fresh food market in an old town square.
Avila is ok, but Segovia is SPECTACULAR. It is amazing the location of the aqueduct and how it still stands (stones with no cement), we had lunch in a very old restaurant with fine food (I chose the cheaper lunch and was ok, the complete one was too heavy to allow you to keep walking the rest of the day). I found Segovia a much nicer city too, we had a nice walk through the pedestrian area which was delightful. The cherry on the pie was the alcazar: just a beautiful castle with an amazing view: they say Walt Disney got there the inspiration to design Cinderella's castle in Disney (I do not know if it is true, but looks possible).
I enjoyed the one day tour a lot
We found the trip was great. The guide was full of knowledge but could have spoken more in English instead of Spanish. It was an English tour that we booked. Well worth the cost even though it rained most of the time.
It was OK. I signed up for a tour in English but the group was bilingual. I didn't feel we had the tour guide's complete attention. It felt rushed in many parts, perhaps because the guide had to repeat everything twice!
Tour guides were very good. Wish I had known in advance that the weather would be so cold. The sights are awesome; some time on my own to explore would have been nice.
This was a very interesting and all-encompassing tour. I would have preferred that we had been told that it was a holiday and that everything would be closed, so that we could have possibly rescheduled.
My biggest complaint was the dual language guide. I thought the tour was an english speaking tour-turned out it was a Spanish tour and English. The guide had to say everthing twice...a lot of wasted time.
