Doing what: Avila and Segovia Day Trip from Madrid
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour to Avilia and Segovia. Both cities were beautiful and we had a nice sunny day. Jorge was our guide and was very knowledgable and helpful. We enjoyed chatting with him about his travels and time spent in the US. In Avilia, we saw had a nice tour of the completely walled city before driving on to Segovia. There we saw the aquaduct before going on our own for lunch with more time to walk around the city, which was very enjoyable. There were incredible views in every direction at the Alcarzar. All in all, a great tour, good pacing and probably the most efficient way to do it if you don't have your own transportation.

The tour was great. The history was really interesting. The guide was able to provide all the information in both spanish and english without forgetting any detail in either language. The cities and sights visited were beautiful. Everything was perfect.

Doing what: Avila and Segovia Day Trip from Madrid
Very enjoyable - helped by the warm sunny weather. We lost at least half an hour because of a tailback arising from a road accident on the road out of Madrid. This meant that some of the tour was, perhaps, a bit hurried. Nevertheless, the tours of the cathedral and alcazar at Segovia were well done, and the guide was informative and helpful. AJS

Very good tour - just wish there had been more free time to explore Segovia. Avila was fine, but could have done without it. The Segovian aqueduct is amazing and the cathedral and alcazar are also worth seeing.

Jorge is very nice and helpful. but like others said i booked for an english tour, even though he was very elegant in explaining both in spanish and english but still time could have been used more wisely for a half day instead of repeating same stuff.
we didn't see everything in a half day and maybe should have extended an hour.
the last part which is the the sword shop is a typical tourist shop even thouhg i bought items but still useless to spend there this much time.

Unfortunately it was cold and windy on our tour making it difficult to appreciate the sights. The Alcazar in Segovia was impressive.

I didn't like the bus ride

Doing what: Avila and Segovia Day Trip from Madrid
The only advantage taking this tour is that the bus is provided. Otherwise, can't think of anything the tour added above what one could have done by oneself. The guide was not local and shared few interesting facts. If you'd like a tour, get another one.

Doing what: Avila and Segovia Day Trip from Madrid
Avila was OK but think I would have liked more time in Sergovia which was a more interesting place than Avila, bus seemed to go very slow getting there so a lot of time was taken up just getting to the places, so not sure I would do that again.

Doing what: Avila and Segovia Day Trip from Madrid
Tour leader was not very good. Tour was bilingual Spanish and English. The tour guide translated about a 1/3rd of what she said in Spanish to English. She also didn't leave time for questions and got annoyed when I would ask them. Her directions about meeting points and times weren't clear.

Doing what: Avila and Segovia Day Trip from Madrid
Great trip, even weather was bad. We really enjoyed both locations and especially loved walking around in Segovia. The tour guide spoke well, going back and forth between English and Spanish and was easy to understand. He was very pleasant, too. Gastronomic lunch was very tasty..
