Day 1: Get Oriented Around Palma de Mallorca
It’s easy to get discombobulated when first touching down in a big city (even though Palma’s not that big, it can certainly feel that way when stepping off you plane or ferry!). Fear not. Most everything you will want to see and do either revolves around, originates, or can be seen from the harbor and nearby city center. Consider an easy Hop On Hop Off City Tour which picks you up directly in front of your boat and shows you all the pertinent info of your host city while allowing you the luxury of stopping and checking out what you absolutely need to experience right then and there (like the beach, market, or the Almudaina Palace).
Day 2: Downtown Palma
Ok, now that you’ve gotten settled, unpacked, and seen a bit of the city, it’s time to do the mandatory sight-seeing and learn what makes Palma great. The Inca Markets Shopping Tour is always a hit to gather up some rare leather collectibles, while the Mallorca Island Tour gives one a whole sense of the island, as opposed to just the city. This is nice for those who’ve had enough of the city life, but still want a little culture and history.
Day 3: Day Trips from Palma
So you’ve taken the plunge and gone on vacation, decided to explore a bit, and found yourself here, on Palma. But why stop there? Some of the island’s best features can be found by exploring it’s outer boundaries. For example, the caves of Drach are an eerily beautiful stop which will keep you mystified. Pelucid pools of cool blue and green, stalactites and stalagmites the size of a man surround you and the only thing that penetrates the silence is the occasional drip of cave runoff. This experience itself is enough to routinely keep visitors coming back time and time again. The beauty is truly magical.
Another option is Valldemossa and La Granja. This all day excursion takes you to high ground, where you’ll see Valldemossa nestled between stately mountains: a photographer’s dream. In addition, you’ll see La Granja, a farm that dates back to Roman days. Fancy the Roman aqueducts? You’ll see something similarly ingenious here.
