With a constant flow of visitors hopping off cruises and yachts and dozens of busy beach resorts lining its waterfront, Marmaris has a lively crowd to entertain during the summer months. The town has a hard-partying reputation, and its nightlife doesn’t disappoint.
The focal point of Marmaris’ nightlife is Haci Mustafa Sokagi, a strip that runs close to the waterfront between the marina and Marmaris Castle, and is evocatively dubbed Bar Street for its seemingly endless string of bars and nightclubs. Here you’ll find everything from happy hour cocktails to all-night dance clubs, with venues playing a mix of 70s and 80s classics and international hits interspersed with Turkish dance music. Plenty of drink promotions are offered, and live music, drag shows and karaoke bars add to the entertainment. Haci Mustafa Sokagi is popular among night owls, with the party atmosphere heating up around 11 p.m. and bars staying open until about 4 a.m. Alternatively, night boat tours and after-dark party cruises are popular ways to spend an evening, with food and drinks served on board and live DJs playing from about 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Those who prefer to be tucked up in bed long before the sun comes up can opt for the upmarket bars around Long Beach (Uzunyali) and Armutalan, most of which close around midnight. Turkish dinner shows are also a great way to experience the culture, with live folk musicians and belly dancers providing the entertainment while guests tuck into traditional Turkish fare.
