The best way to know any city is by a sight seeing bus tour. They will show you the best spots on the town and after that it is up to you to go on your own.
Marseille is one of the cities that is worth sight seeing on foot.

Our "Private tour: Marseille City Sightseeing" was amazing. Our fabulous guide Jessica was waiting for us (my teen boys and I) at the Train Station and it was wonderful....our first time in Marseille and we had no clue what to do. She took us to the major Sightseeing...beautiful city. We had so many questions and Jessica knew how to answer them all. When we were done, she showed us how to go to Château d'If, how to get back to the Train Station and gave us a big warm goodbye hug...so sweet. We highly recommend the tour and Jessica! The Old Port of Marseille ( Vieux- Port) is not to far from the Train Station(Saint Charles)...we walked back, but we love to walk.

You get many discounts, including free admission to several attractions. Because there is so much that you can access with this pass, it helps if you will be in Marseille for at least a day. The longer you're there, the more savings you can enjoy with this pass. Even though we weren't there for a full day, we still enjoyed this pass. At the tourism office where we exchanged our vouchers for our passes the representative was very friendly and informative.

The pass was good to have. We were only there for one day/night so we didn't use it for the public transportation. The water was too choppy so they weren't doing the tours to the If Castle either, but we did use our pass to see the Notre Dame de la Garde which was neat.
