There was a mistake. I understood that the tour was about the sunset, and I missed the time of pick up at the hotel. I tought it was st 2:30 PM and it was at 2:30 am. I talked to Polinesean tours and they couldn't changr the date, but they asked me to talk to vistor and ask if it was possible to change this payment to another tour. So, please, can you find about this?

The small group tour to Haleakala with a lavender farm visit and wine tasting was a great way to spend a day on Maui. We started with a stop to have some coffee and breakfast while looking for whales along the coast, and then continued on the long and winding (take dramamine if you get car sick!) ride up to the volcano. After a few minutes to check out the views, we headed back down to stop at a lavender farm for lunch before heading to our final stop, a winery that makes several kinds of wine, including a very unique - and very sweet - pineapple wine. Our guide was great; he was informative and funny and shared a lot of information about life on Maui. The tour was a long one, but we loved the chance to see so many diverse areas of Maui in one day.

It was a lovely experience. The driver was courteous, friendly and informative, as well as being a very good driver. Watching the sun rise over the crater was amazing, though very, very cold. A lady sang a traditional song as the sun rose, which was very emotional; brought tears to my eyes. Breakfast on the way back was quite good, and very well organised. This is a must do for visitors to Maui, but wear something really warm.

Fun trip. Unfortunately it was foggy when the sun came up, and I think the price for this particular trip was high, but I had a good time

What a day.... Dry landscapes, a dormant volcano, winding road through a rainforest are all part of this day. We had the luxury car and the driver was very enthusiastic and shared many great experiences.... A good all round if a long one. Do it..

Although we had an interesting tour and a good day, we were disappointed in some aspects of our luxury tour. For one thing, on reading the itinerary for the day we were promised a BBQ lunch with some menu choices; however we got a cold picnic lunch which consisted of a wrap, cold salad, a brownie and a bottle of water,.This was the same lunch that we received on the Hana Tour the week before. Also the continental breakfast was disappointing--although the pound cake was fine, the coffee was a bag in a styro foam cup with luke warm water from a thermos. We were expecting a nice hot cup of good Hawaiian coffee. Tour of the Haleakala national Park was good, and our driver was a good guide, but what the luxury tour offered over a regular tour was not worth all the extra money. The tour was almost $500.00 per couple. We were not impressed with the lavender farm at this time of year-nothing very significant, and the same with the wine tasting. I have been to several wine tours, and this did not measure up ,for the amount of money invested. This was our second luxury tour, and after being disappointed with some aspects of both, decided to cancel the third tour. You would be better off taking a regular tour and spending your money on other activities.

Our bus broke down and we spent about an hour of the tour stranded on the side of the road at 3:30 AM, which ultimately caused us to miss the sunrise on top of the crater. It would have been a pretty good tour, except that they sent us out in a bus that had known maitenence issues (our guide stated that he and another person had experienced issues with this particular vehicle) yet they chose to send clients out in it anyways. This tells me that they have a systemic issue regarding the maintenence of their fleet. I also didn't enjoy sitting stranded on the side of the road in pitch black darkness with only hazard lights to warn motorists that we were stranded on the side of the road. I was concerned someone was going to come around the bend and slam into us, possibly seriously injuring or killing us. It was a bad situation that the company could have taken measures to avoid by #1 not sending out a vehicle with known issues and #2 not continuing the trip once the vehicle started to show signs of failure. The driver tried repeatedly to restart the vehicle and decided to try and limp up the crater while we waited for a replacement vehicle rather than drive us back to a parking lot where we could safely be pulled off the road. After multiple (5 or more) tries to remedy the problem in the field, the company dispatched another bus. If they had started this process from the first signs of trouble, we would have probably made the sunrise. If our guide hadn't been so good, I would have probably given this tour one star.

Tour guide is courteous and friendly. Pickup time and overall tour are excellent. Lunch was very good, thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately could not see the crater because it was very cloudy up the mountain. Iao Valley is magnificent.
