Some of the best beaches on Maui for those who want to snorkel are Ka’anapali Beach and neighboring Kahekili Beach Park, with nearby Napili Bay being another popular option. On the southern end of the island Ulua and Mokapu beaches offer abundant waters for snorkeling, although the morning hours are best before the afternoon tradewinds pick up.
For those who like their beaches without any development along the shoreline the best beaches in Maui for unspoiled beauty are Baldwin Beach on the island’s north shore, Hamoa Beach in Hana, and Makena State Park on the island’s south end. Makena is also one of the best beaches on Maui for watching the sunset, although be warned that the smaller beach on the north end of the headland is frequented by those who prefer to bathe au natural.
