Excellent tour. Colin was a great tour guide, fun, friendly and informative. The trip covered a lot of sites and scenes. The highlight was an optional helicopter ride over the 12 apostles. I highly recommend this tour
Throughly enjoyed our trip from start to end. our tour guide was steve.. he was very cooperative and friendly.. it rained a bit and was cloudy in morning, but as the day progressed day turned sunny and beautiful. We included 10 mins flight with it, it reduced our time at 12 apostles but flight was awesome, worth every penny.. minivan was comfortable for ladies as they have small frame but it would be uncomfortable for big guys... steve was great, he kept us entertained till end.. he was sweet and funny.. we informed during booking to include vegetarian lunch, and the back office staff forgot to communicate with him.. we ordered vegetarian burger and received it. While having a general chat with him, we mentioned about our specific requirements as soon as we discussed this thing with steve, changed our vegetarian burgers with vegetarian sandwiches as according to him, vegetarian burgers contained egg. This was very sweet gesture. Also he offered us some bananas.. also there was some single ladies and families, he took care of everyone... this tour is highly recommended.. best tour guide...
Enjoy the trip. Though is it a long day but worth to go. The Twelve Apostles has spectular view especially under sunset. The rain forest pretty interesting. Shane the tour guide did very good job. The arrangement was all on schedule. I had recommended my friends and relatives this is must go scenic and suggest them to book via viator.com
Thoroughly enjoyed this smaller group trip, our tour guide was very knowledgable and enthusiastic. Loved the helicopter flight over the 12 apostles, well worth paying a little extra for.
Our driver was Lizzie, she was really nice, funny and made the long bus journey very enjoyable. She gave us plenty of information about the places visited and played so much fun music.
It was quite coldish in the morning but thanks to the sunshine, it warmed up quickly. We stopped at a few beaches, a lovely rain forest, the 12 Apostles no access to Gibson Steps and at the beautiful Ard Gorge, which was our favourite.
On the way to Ocean Road we stopped for cakes and coffee loved the cakes, then saw a few koalas and birds in front of the restaurant where we stopped for lunch. Being vegetarians we were a bit afraid there wouldn't be any options for us, but there were at least 5 veggie options, and it was really tasty too.
For dinner we stopped at a fast food cluster McDonalds, Subway etc. Not a fan of these, but can survive once in a while.
We asked her to drop us off somewhere else than the agreed place, and it was cool.
Very satisfied with the trip and surely Lizzie made it very enjoyable!
Highly recommend this small bus tour along Great Ocean Road. Saw so many sites and Stuart our knowledgeable and witty tour guide truly added to the experience. He shared stories we would not know traveling independently and kept us entertained during the long, but scenic, day. Well worth the time and cost!
The Tour of the Great Ocean road was The Best!!!!
Every detail : the History and culture that the Tour guide offered , the atmosphere, the scenery along the road, the stops at reasonable intervals, All combined to make this experience an extra Excellent one
I speak for myself but am pretty sure that the 22 passengers were as happy as i have been.
My only regret was that it could nkt go for longer: i would have happily gone on to Adelaide....
I will absolutley be recommneding this tour to everyone I talk to, I had the best two days and I am really glad I was told to visit the great ocean road and see the penguins when I came here or else I am may not have come across this tour! There was so much beautiful sights, I found the tour very well planned, I learned so much and I did everything I possibly could have! My tour guides were Peter and Rob, and they both get gold stars, they were funny and quirky and they gave a ton of knowlegde and information about all the stops we took as well as interacted very well with ALL of the members. I am Jennifer from Canada, and I would like to thank you for two fabulous days! I will also upload some pictures when I get to a computer :
This was awesome. Nathan is a great, funny and good storyteller. Had a great day with lots of stops and saw the koalas, kaketoes, 12 apostles had the helicopter flight which was short but awesome as well, the rain forest,... but no kangoeroes such a pity Nathan
I had an amazing day during my tour to great ocean road . A spectacular scenic view of other side of Victoria. Thank you very much to our very funny and cool guide name Travis . His doing his job extremely well. This tour is very reasonable price and worth it!
We had an educational and entertaining guide/driver who looked after us very well. The sights were amazing and the twelve apostles view from a helicopter was spectacular. Well worth doing.
Wonderful! Coastline is gorgeous, forests are pretty on the Great Ocean Road. The trip to Phillip Island was everything I hoped for and more, despite the unexpected cold weather. The penguins are a national treasure!
This day tour was everything we expected and more. The Great Ocean road was beautiful
Great guide, great experience. Only the Twelve Apostles and the Breakship Beach needed more time to explore, maybe the first few stops could be shorter. If you love nature, it's definitely a trip for you. If you enjoy your comfort and good food, then re-consider your choice.
There are so many reasons I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the Great Ocean Road! Stuart of Go West was a fun and knowledgeable guide who also provided super-yummy baked goods for our morning tea/coffee we stopped at many locations for photos and short walks the time allowed at each location was long enough for photos, but short enough that we could see the highlights from Melbourne to Port Campbell during daylight and the noodle place option for supper on our way back was fast, yummy and relatively cheap there were other options, we went for stir fry. Highly recommended!
Highly recommend this tour!
Having a knowledgeable tour guide like Jon who drove the group everywhere made for a wonderful experience! As I'm from the US, I for one would not be comfortable driving on the other side of the road, and who can enjoy the scenic views when doing so, along narrow, windy roads?
The cheesy soundtrack on the bus just added to the lightheartedness of the tour. Tell me that it's not perfect that Sheryl Crow's Every Day Is A Winding Road is playing as you're doing just that - driving along a winding road. And as we ventured through the surf section of the trip, the Beach Boys were blasting tunes like Surfin' USA.
Logistically, this tour organization nailed it! The Thai lunch included in the ticket price was hot and satisfying, and there are a handful of dinner options on the drive back to Melbourne. We even had morning tea with coffee/tea options from a thermos and poundcake during a break in the drive. Pit stops are planned out every couple hours, which was just right.
Thank you for such a well-planned out day trip to the 12 Apostles and Great Ocean Road! I've never experienced anything like it before. Breathtaking sights! This tour is worth every penny!
The combo tour package with Bunyip Tours was a great deal. The Great Ocean Road was a long drive, but it was beautiful even on a cold and windy August day. The stops along the way were also interesting include the Otway lighthouse. The Phillip Island tour was made more entertaining by a great guide Peter, who gave great information along the long drives. The stops at Moonlit Santuary to feed the tamed Kangaroos and Wallabies and see other native animals, Churchill Island farm to check out sheep shearing, Koala Conservation Center, Nobbies, and the Penguin center to see the small penguin return to their nest were all very fun. In addition, the tickets to SeaLife Aquarium and Skydeck were great bonuses. As a tourist with 3.5 days in Melbourne, this was a great deal and highly recommended.
I had a wonderful trip along the Great Ocean Road, enjoying hearing about the history and wildlife and looking at stunning scenery. We saw plenty of birds and koalas in the wild and there were opportunities to take photos at various stops along the way. There was enough time to explore different stops.
John, our tour guide was informative and good humoured. For me the balance of giving information and time to look and think was perfect. I liked the quirky music that linked to the section of the tour we were on- although some of the tracks were very cheesy so be warned if that's not your thing!
The lunch options included in tour were fine but not amazing and the evening stop to buy dinner at own expense had fairly limited choices. For me that was a price worth paying for the rest of the trip.
i absolutely loved this tour even as a solo traveler. Daniel, our guide, was awesome. He had great historical and informative stories to share with a touch of humor. I enjoyed having the first class seat upfront and being Daniel's 'co-pilot' for half the tour, it was an amazing view! The places we visited were amazing in their own right, but I must say that the 12 Apostles were the highlight of this tour. I am glad to have chosen this small group tour and the places of visit are well worth the long hours. I would highly recommend this tour for new visitors to Melbourne.
A long day trip that was well worth it - great commentary from a knowledgeable tour guide - Allan - made the day fun.Awesome playlist all day.The scenery was breathtaking - 12 Apostles so majestic and the Rain Forest walk was so peaceful.Would not hesitate recommending this trip to anyone.
Excellent tour package. Both the great ocean road and phillip island tours were great,we upgraded to vip on the phillip island penguin parade and it was well worth it. In the package we also got tickets for the aquarium and tower.
As the only other Australian on the tour, besides the tour guide, I found everyone's reaction to my home country just really satisfying. The Great Ocean Road has been on my bucket list for a long time, so to finally tick that off almost brought tears to my eyes. The service provided by the local tour company was amazing, and Daniel, our tour guide, had such a lovely personality... I couldn't have asked for anything better. The price is literally a bargain, it's so worth it!
Good communication as soon as booked trip including letting us know of adjustment in pickup time due to hotel route extra sleep!. Stewie was a fantastically fun guide and very knowledgeable about the city as well as sites along the route to the Great Ocean Road. He kept the group engaged and excited with the history and other facts, as well as his great sense of humor. The vehicle was comfortable and even had wi-fi if you were so inclined...wouldn't suggest taking your eyes of the scenery though! All in all, a great day and I would recommend to anyone looking for a fun and easy way to see the Great Ocean Road.
Our first stop was Twelve Apostles in the morning, therere few tourists around there because we travelled the other way round. We could take as many photos as we wanted without anyone jumped into my pictures. At night, my friend and I shared a cozy and comfortable house with another four tourists. Dinner and breakfast were included and food was served by a winning café. Quiches, salad, all were delicious! Besides, our tour guide, Tom, shared a lot of history and knowledge to us. Hes dutiful and took care of us all the time.
The next day, another tour guide replaced the original one and he instructed us where we should sit in order to get a good spot for penguin parade. Hes absolutely right and I saw three groups of penguins walking from the shore to land.
Its an awesome experience! Two tour guides, the itinerary, food, accommodation, I definitely recommend this tour to my friends.
This was an amazing tour! The Twelve Apostles and the Loch Ard Gorge is a must see. Dave was our driver and tour guide. He had an awesome personality and excellent knowledge of the place. Also, the hotel pick-up and drop off made things more easier for us.
