Doing what: Phillip Island Penguin Small Group Eco Tour from Melbourne
There was a lot of anticipation waiting for the penguins then it was all over. The day was very enjoyable overall.

Doing what: Phillip Island: Penguins, Koalas and Kangaroos Day Tour from Melbourne
So glad we made the penguin tour and paid the extra for a better viewing platform. Koala stop interesting but kangaroo visit was just a time filler as was the seal colony visit.

Doing what: Phillip Island: Penguins, Koalas and Kangaroos Day Tour from Melbourne
Potentially great tour if we weren't so rushed by the bus tour guide! The bus failed to pick us up, after waiting for half an hour we called the agency, they told us to where to go. We grabbed a cab, got a receipt and were reimbursed for the cab fare. The bus tour guide was rude and unfriendly, boring commentaries and lied about his name (we found out when we went to complain about him). We were dropped at each place and he said that he wouldn't wait for anybody even 2 minutes. Hand fed Kangaroos at Warrock Cattle Farm - was great (ask the farm staff for Kangaroo food!), aussie tea with home made butter and rolls was great but they ran out of coffee quickly and we barely had time to literally swallow the rolls, didn't have time for the tea to cool down to get back on the bus. For Penguin Tour best to get the Private Parade, so you can see; penguins are tiny! It was cold, so instead of sitting on a beach, the local guide placed us on the 1-st row, great view, great commentary but we had to rush back to the bus again. VERY LIMITED time! On the way out we didn't even have time to explore the store, take pictures or use the bathroom. The Bus Tour guide warned us that "those who are late, will have to get to back to Melbourne on their own!". On the way back we were promised a stop at a restaurant for dinner at our expense, but he didn't do that, we were starving and had to look for a place opened late on our own.

Doing what: Phillip Island Penguin Small Group Eco Tour from Melbourne
At the end of the tour, we didn't arrive into Melbourne CBD until after midnight and we had only dropped off 4 of 23 people. Our party decided to take the tram instead of circumnavigating the city repeatedly. Our driver was also more interested in the ipod and GPS systems than keeping the bus between the lines. Although we could have done without the winery and the chocolate factory, the penguins were amazing. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this tour operator but would go with another company instead.

Doing what: Phillip Island: Penguins, Koalas and Kangaroos Day Tour from Melbourne
We (I and my wife) booked the day tour to Philip Island through Viator. Booking through Viator was very easy and we didnt face any issues. We went to the Philip Island with the AAT Kings tours.
We had a wonderful time at the Island and saw lot of little penguins. Needless to say the whole experience was out of the world. The landscape on the way to Philip Island is very beautiful and the places we visited prior to reaching Philip Island, were awesome.
Our tour guide was very friendly, funny and provided clear commentary through out the tour.
Philip Island is a beautiful place to visit, especially if you have little ones. I would recommend this tour to each and every visitor who plan to visit Melbourne, Victoria.

Doing what: Phillip Island Penguin Small Group Eco Tour from Melbourne
This was a good combination of events -- from Koalas to wine to chocolate to penguins. The driver was informative and helpful and the trip was enjoyable.

Doing what: Phillip Island Penguin Small Group Eco Tour from Melbourne
We all thoroughly enjoyed the long day - 10 am - 10pm. Travvelled with 2 teenagers who were the only children on the coach but they enjoyed the trip as well. Great compare with the driver who was very personable and helpful. Penguins stole everybodies hearts and it was lovely to see what is a natural event capture in such an inobtrusive way.
Thoroghly recomment the visit to all

Doing what: Phillip Island: Penguins, Koalas and Kangaroos Day Tour from Melbourne
The star of the show was the penguins without a doubt. I would definitely recommend upgrading to the penguin plus viewing platform as it gives you a better view, Our tour guide Adrian was fantastic and extremely informative. The koalas were a bit disappointing and we have seen better in the wild. The kangaroos were very friendly and the cream tea was delicious.

Doing what: Phillip Island Penguin Small Group Eco Tour from Melbourne
Penguins were nice, tour less so. This was to be a small group Eco tour, not so! The tour consisted of being stuck with 15 other people on a bus and spending over 2 hours at a chocolate factory and a winery rather than with either the Koalas or the Penguins. What sort of garbage is that? If we wanted to generate kickbacks for the vendor we could have.gone to the Barossa valley, or Napa! This tour was an overpriced waste!

Doing what: Phillip Island: Penguins, Koalas and Kangaroos Day Tour from Melbourne
This trip was fabulous. We had a really enjoyable day, feeding the kanagroos was awesome. The koala conversation centre was good because we got lucky and one of the koalas was active and walked along the hand rail next to us but every other koala was difficult to see because right at the top of the trees and a few people on our trip were disappointed because they didn't see any properly. The penguins were excellent. We paid the highest price which was well worth it. There were only eight people in the group and we got to sit right on the beach. Also meant we didn't have to rush like everyone else to get to the front so took more time in visitor centre and with the guide. Well worth the extra money!

Doing what: Phillip Island Penguin Small Group Eco Tour from Melbourne
I travelled with my sons aged 11 and 13 who were initially reluctant participants. Our guide was great, very informative, entertaining and accommodating. The kids loved the Chocolate factory, which has interesting and interactive displays. All other aspects of the tour were enjoyable also, including the penguins. I chose this tour based on reviews I read, and I'm glad I did.

Doing what: Phillip Island: Penguins, Koalas and Kangaroos Day Tour from Melbourne
This was a great day, we were collected from our hotel at 1pm. The driver "Angie" was great fun and pointed out a lot of things along the way as it was quite a long trip to get there. We stopped at Warook cattle farm firstly and received tea and scones. We could also walk around and observe the animals. We then visited the Koala conservation centre which was cute and then headed onto phillip island. We had booked the skybox experience and were surprised to find out that we were the only 2 that night, the staff were surprised too as they said that at least 10 people fit in the box and they couldn't remember a time when only 2 people were there!! Our guide was informative, we had tea/coffee and nibbles before heading down to the box. It was a really clear night and we had a great view of the little penguins coming ashore. Even if you didn't book the skybox the boardwalks have great vantage points and I feel this tour is a must if you are visiting Melbourne. Tip: make sure you bring some warm clothes as it is pretty chilly at night by the sea.
