We did the bus and the cruise, it is worth doing the cruise we really enjoyed this part of the day. The bus tour was good , no complaints we had enough time at the stops to see what we wanted to, apart from the Victoria market stop which was the first stop and the market was not quite open we were there 20mins , thought this stop was unnecessary at that time of day.
Really good as an introductory tour to give us an idea of the central areas of Melbourne and its history. The stops at Cook's Cottage and at the War Memorial were especially interesting. Our driver was knowledgeable and very helpful - he gave us and others a lift to the Markets after the tour finished.

we took the free tram around town and learned more than on the city tour. Visit the giant market if you go.
This was very disappointing. Although the tour guide was friendly, he was dull and not engaging.
The facts were also extremely boring and not exactly interesting.
Some things were listed that we didn't see. Like the Victoria Markets. A walking tour would have been better.
