Always a vibrant, busy marketplace, even during weekdays. A great place to do a grocery shop or pick up a special ingredient. Really good coffee and multicultural takeaway foods.

Doing what: Melbourne Outlet Shopping Tour
I liked the tour and the guides were great. Some of the destinations could be different. The other tour with DFO, Harbor Town and the Queen Victoria Markets was a better option

Trams run to the market along Elizabeth Street, or it's around a 10-minute walk from the city-center shops. To help you get around this huge shopping area, you'll find the Deli, Fish and Meat halls facing Elizabeth Street. The covered fruit and vegetable stalls are behind the halls, stretching for several blocks, and there's a Food Court facing Therry Street.
