An excellent day. Only five people on the trip and we all got on very well. Our guide very knowledgeable and there was plenty of good wine to sample. Lunch in the Yarra Valley was first class.

Doing what: Yarra Valley Wine and Winery Tour from Melbourne
I loved the fact that all the guests were picked up and dropped off at a central commune area. That only helped add to the experience. The drive to Yarra Valley was wonderful, the wineries were fantastic and our guide was knowledgeable and superb.

Doing what: Yarra Valley Wineries and Puffing Billy Steam Train Day Tour from Melbourne
Enjoyed our trip to Yarra Valley. The steam ride only lasted about 20 minutes and we were hoping to be on the train a little longer, but we enjoyed it very much. The wineries were beautiful and I would go on this tour again. When you get to the Morning Tea location beware of the Cockatoos. They bite!

Doing what: Yarra Valley Wineries and Puffing Billy Steam Train Day Tour from Melbourne
We had a wonderful guide (Adrian from Australian Pacific Tours). If it wasn't for his amazing personality and commentary, the Puffing Billy part of the tour would have been a let down. Yarra Valley was a hit as expected. :) However, for us a family of 2 adults and 2 children, it worked out perfectly as the kids had their train ride and the adults had their wine tour and tastings.

A most enjoyable day out sampling the best the Yarra Valley has to offer. The guide was very knowledgeable about both the Yarra Valley and wine.

Very enjoyable trip in the Yarra valley. Minni bus was not quite the standard that I expected. Gourmet meal was over-cooked. My wife's meal was also over-cooked. Enjoyable day other than that.

Doing what: Yarra Valley Wineries and Puffing Billy Steam Train Day Tour from Melbourne
What a great day to see Melbourne countryside. The Puffing Billy ride was enjoyable and fun. The drive through the Dandenongs was just beautiful. Our coach driver was courteous and very informative about the sights we were seeing, and he joked with us along the way. The Yarra Valley was great to see and the highlight was Chandon Winery - what a beautiful spot. And the tour at Chandon was so interesting. The only disappointment was lunch at Ferguson Valley winery - plain roast beef with boiled carrots and lettuce leaves - so unappetizing. Since when do wineries serve this sort of a meal!! If I had of known, I would have brought along my own lunch.

Doing what: Yarra Valley Balloon Flight and Winery Tour
The balloon ride was very well piloted, gave us great views of the Yarra Valley and wineries and played out very well. The pick-up arrangements were not certain until the evening just before the balloon ride. Clearly the organisers, and the recorded message on the contact phone number, expected us to be either a resident of the Melbourne area or staying in a CBD hotel. We were staying somewhere else and it was only when the driver of the pick-up van called us on his mobile the evening before the ride, that I was at all confident that we would connect with the balloon in the early hours of the following morning. The organisers should also specify a clock time on their information, instead of specifying the pick-up time by an interval before sunrise.

It was a great and entertaining day out. The tour guide was excellent and very informative. Puffing Billy was fun. Would recommend the experience to anyone wanting a great day in the Yarra Valley. Only small criticism was that the tasting at the second winery I believe this was a substitute for the original destination we were given ten different wines to taste within about five minutes. This was far too rushed and it was impossible to sort out the taste of different wines even drinking water in between. We still had about 20 minutes to fill in at the end of the tasting so it wasn't as though we were running behind time.

Doing what: Yarra Valley Food and Wine Small Group Tour
Departure was Tuesday, company called late Sunday night to change day. Driver was on time for pickup. Driving through the Yarra Valley was great. The first stop at De Bortoli was impressive but no departure time was given. Once the wine tasting at the bar was over we were rushed out without time to buy any cheese at their great cheese shop. There was no seating in the private tasting room nor any fruit as the brochure described. The stop at Yering Station winery was way too long. Lunch at Chandon was lovely though there was no time allowed to taste wines there after lunch as we were rushed off to Coldstream Hills. We were all looking for a cup of coffee after lunch but none was offered or available. Coldstream Hills was also impressive with good wine but we would have appreciated some fresh fruit or coffee. Coffee was to be had at the Yarra Valley Dairy. We arrived early so had to wait standing around while they prepared the tasting plates. Two dinner plates with some blobs of cheese were handed around without toothpicks or crackers. We did not get to sit down at the tables until we ordered coffee which we paid for since it was not included in our tour. At 180 per person I felt that morning or afternoon tea should have been supplied. The day was pleasant and two of the wineries were very good but the tour could have been a lot better. The last cheese tasting was woeful, having to pick up the soft cheese with fingers and no coffee, bottled water or fruit being included in a day that started at 9am and finished at 5pm. The fellow travelers were friendly and interesting but I don't think it was value for money.
