Comment from Mexico Expert: Carlos
Originally in the south of Mexico City this museum will open to the public the last Monday of March. It was constructed expressly to hold Carlos Slim's art collection (over 60,000 pieces) and will be free. Its impressive architecture along with the importance of the art pieces displayed from prehispanic pieces, to colonial, modern and contemporary art from Mexico and Europe (it will display pieces from the Middle Ages to the surrealism of Salvador Dali) will soon make this museum a must-see in Mexico City. It is located a block away from Polanco neighborhood and minutes away by car from the major hotels in Mexico City. Address: Lago Zurch corner with Miguel de Cervantes colonia granada, back of Antara Polanco mall. It will have extended opening hours still to be decided. Don't miss it in your next trip to Mexico City!
