Doing what: Swiss Alps Bernina Express Rail Tour from Milan

It was a cold and foggy day so not the picture perfect day to see the Alps but it was still a nice day. The trip wasn't as well organized as I would have liked. I was expecting to have at least 2 hours in St. Moritz. Seemed like we hardly had enough time to get off the train, walk to the center of town, visit the restrooms and it was time to get on the bus to return to Milan. The tour guide was very nice and well informed but she didn't wait for all of us to be together when she gave out important information. Wish I had know the schedule before signing up. What I could see of the Alps was beautiful. I enjoyed the train. The windows were quite large and could be pulled down to take photos. And our bus driver was excellent. The trip down the mountains was a little scary with quite a bit of fog but he was an excellent driver.

^The tour was OK.

Doing what: Milan City Hop-on Hop-off Tour

It was ok.

I was under the impression that I had signed up for an English speaking tour. It was not as enjoyable or seemed tedious waiting for everything to be repeated in German. I lost interest in listening after a while. The guide was good but her German was better than her English. We were well past buildings etc. at times when we finally heard what they were, etc. It would be good to make it clear that the tour was to be in two languages.

Doing what: Milano Card: Milan Sightseeing Pass

Sightseeing buses where not included and ended up costing 20 euro per day or 25 euro in a 4 days deal. Leonardo da Vinci museum by the Galleria was not included either, just the science museum. I bet the other things included having this card, are in fact, included. So basically theres no ''promises that werent kept'' having this card. But I thought worth mentioning whats not included since both are quite big highlights og discovering Milan. Its worth reading carefully through whats with this deal before buying. Unlimited metro travelling with this card was a positive thing.

We were left by the tour bus. Despite the guide broadcasting by radio to keep all of us in touch, we had absolutely no contact or instruction from her on where to rendezvous or when it was time to leave. It was an obvious yet unaddressed concern having a large group in the busiest part of Milan, Piazze di Duomo. The guide spent more time pointing out bathrooms then making sure we had the pertinent details. Needless to say, it put a black mark on our entire visit to Milan. Fortunately, the tour wasted enough time in Sforza castle for us to hike/run half way across the city (without direction from the local office) to catch the bus again. Thus, no review of the castle. If we had not been able to re-catch the bus again and make it to the Last Supper, really the sole reason for this tour, we would have demanded our money back. Obviously, a tour that is based on taking navigation out of the hands of the tourist, by putting him on a bus, will make it pretty difficult for said tourist to find his way to the next stop on foot in a foreign city that they were planning to be shown by bus. Also, we were not satisfied by the tour of the Opera House, which was represented with at least an open view of the stage and theatre, but in reality only provided a view behind tinted glass. It was hardly a view to remember, much less an ideal opportunity to take a photo. This was a "tour", but not one I will ever recommend to anyone.

We had a wonderful time on the tour. Our guide, Helena or Elena, was knowledgable, friendly, helpful, humorous, and full of interesting information about the sites we visited. We liked the use of radios, even in our small group, because it made it easy to look around and see the ceilings, walls, windows, and walkways without having to be in front of her. We enjoyed visiting the Duomo, La Scala, a castle, but the highlight was seeing the Last Supper. The organization was amazing to see the painting: 30 people at a time can view the painting for 15 minutes. I was surprised how close we were to the painting. Our guide explained the painting had been repaired and restored over the centuries. A final restoration that lasted 21 years was unveiled in 1999, and it is breathtaking to see a 500 year old painting looking very much like Leonardo painted it. I would highly recommend Viator tours. The online booking was easy. We received timely confirmations and reminders. We found the office easily, and the yellow bus was clean and comfortable.

Enrico was Great ! Totally enjoyed it , we learned a lot.

I loved seeing the Last Supper and the La Scala Opera House. These 2 things have been on my bucket list for a long time and I'm glad I was able to do them. The La Scala Opera house was just as beautiful as I had hoped, I'm a little disappointed that we weren't allowed to take pictures. Our guide was very informative and answered all of our questions. I will recommend them to others that our traveling to Milan.

Doing what: Lake Como Day Trip from Milan

My husband and I loved this tour if not for the fact that it was so cold and we were freezing, but still managed to stay on the boat's upper (open) deck. It rained a little bit during the latter part as well.

Our guide, Alessandro, was the best ever! He was so accommodating and mindful of everyone's needs, soooo funny (made a lot of jokes), so lively, and so informative - told us everything we need to know + so much more - about Como, Italy... all those other little facts and trivia that made the tour so interesting :)

Unfortunately since it was still not officially summer yet, we didn't go to Bellagio as the sites are closed :(

The tour was on time, the schedule allotted for the visit to the Basilica, funicular ride, lunch + shopping, and the boat cruise are just right ... For sure I will go with Viator again the next time I book this tour (also their buses are very clean) - and this time that would be in summer, when everything's green and in full bloom! ^^
