Luminous Lagoon was beautiful. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and accomodating. I went on a holiday Monday and the roads were a little dangerous. Several accidents due to drunk drivers.

My entire visit to Jamaica was amazing! Everything from the people, to the food, to the wonderful tours. The Luminous Lagoon is definitely worth going to! It was amazing seeing the water light up in a bright, neon blue. I would definitely recommend going to see this.

We LOVED this! We went on a perfect night when there was only a little bit of glow from the moon. They took us out to the site, and then let us swim for about 45 minutes in these amazing waters. It was definitely a trip highlight!

BRING A TOWEL!
The lagoon is a 1/2 hour drive east of Montego Bay
Luminous waters are incredible
The term cruise is a long stretch....think spartan fishing boat.
THIS IS NOT A CRUISE...its an opportunity to swim in an incredible natural phenomena.
The size of the complimentary rum punch was underwhelming...but we rallied after buying 2 more.
This could have been really nice, but the event is severely underdeveloped.
High points were:
The luminous water swim and our driver Michael.
One more thing....BRING A TOWEL!!!!

This a must see when you visit Jamaica but DO NOT book unless you are staying in Montego Bay. The actual tour is only about 30 minutes so most of the time was spent in a car driving from Negril to the Lagoon.

Michael picked us up in Negril for the 1.5 hr. drive to the lagoon. He was very good and showed us the town of Falmouth on the way there and also went into Montego Bay on the way back to see how the local people populate the streets at night. We enjoyed the tour very much. The boat trip was fun, another group joined us for that. The water/swimming was warm and kind of freaky with the mud on the bottom. The luminous water was a little less than expected. Overall, a worthwhile adventure ! Trip cost through Viator was way cheaper that if we had booked through our hotel in Negril !!!

My wife and I did this as a "something different" tour. With that said, the trip was simply not impressive. We departed from Ocho Rios so there was about a 45 minute drive something we knew going in so it wasn't bad. When we arrived we had a small glass of rum punch. The entire setup was very odd. Very dim lighting and a sort of tin shack for a bar. There was absolutely no precautions taken for the protection of the passengers; for example, no safety lighting for other boats. Again, not a huge deal. We departed and went about 5 minutes off the shore. The water was normal. My wife's comment to me when we stopped said it all. We're here? It only lights up when someone or something is actively sturring. The description of the excursion and the photo of the excursion in my mind is misleading. Simply not worth the money.

It was a an interesting experience. Very different from anything that you have ever done before. The luminous effect of the water as you swim through it was very cool to watch.

Was disappointed. Water was not luminous at all! I think if the condition are not right for the experience the tour should be cancelled instead of taking us on a night ride in the water.

Sorry to report this cruise was a bust. Nothing like the pictures. I booked this before arriving and told my hotel rep about it and she warned me it would probably be a disappointment. I thought she was just putting down something not booked by her people - but she was right. I have had a good experience with a viator tours before - not this time. I hope they have the integrity to leave up negative reviews like this one to educate other travelers.

Great tour! We had a wonderful driver who drove us to all these places. ALong the way he explained things and history about Jamaica which I wasnt expecting. Our tour didnt include lunch but he brought us to a place he recommended and even carried out trays for us. He didnt eat with us, I wish I had asked him to. He was so polite. The rafting tour was a lot of fun, we had a guy who was very animated and funny. The only negative part was that I wasnt aware that the rafters obviously expect a tip but they also hand carve coconuts and want to sell them to you along the way. We werent prepared for that so we didnt have any money and he got a little upset about it. We still tipped him but he was clearly expecting to sell a coconut. You dont get wet on the raft which is nice and it was a relaxing beautful ride.
The Falls were absolutley stunning, I was not expecting them to be as big as they were. You absolutely need to bring water shoes for this part. I actually had to back out last minute because I was 8 weeks pregnant and wasnt expecting the falls to be as big and I was too scared off slipping. Even if you dont do it, it was still amazing to see this!

We got picked up by a small bus and it was just the 4 of us, I was kind of expecting other people but it ended up being nice that it was just us. Once we got there, the place looked a little sketchy- like we just pulled up to someones house. There was a small bar area outside where they gave us a small rum drink and then we headed to the boat. It was a small wooden motor boat with 2 guys who looked like they could be anyone- nothing official about them or the boat. We got in, drove half way across the lake/lagoon. They stopped and they explained a little history behind the water and then we were able to jump in for a little bit. They were respectful and fun. The whole thing was pretty short but so worth it. The way the water lights up is magical and to experieicen that is worth it!
