The guide was good and knew her stuff. Our enjoyment was marred by one participant who tried to turn the walk into a personal conversation with the guide, limiting the opportunity for questions from the group.
The walking tour was very informative and was presented in a clear manner. The guide was excellent. I would recommend it.
Here it is: The tour was good however, the customer service individual the tour was booked with made a big mistake which we were not happy about at all.
We booked the tour at 9;45 the same day and were told to come to the starting place of the tour by 10;15, a full 45 minutes BEFORE the starting time. It was a windy and cold day and we did not appreciate it because we had to take the car and pay for parking unnecessarily..
The walking tour was great and it was well worth the 2 hours, gave you some great incite into old Montreal. Entrance is included into the basilica. Gave some great locations to visit after the tour was over.
This tour is an absolute must do. The guide, Angie, was great! You will learn more about the history and architecture of Montreal by taking this tour than any other means. Take the tour early in your stay and use it as a reference for the rest of your stay in Old Montreal.
Very nice tour. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and learned so much along the way.
Frankly, I was somewhat disappointed in the walking tour. Our guide did not seem to have that much detailed knowledge of the sites we were seeing. Just because she was born and raised in QC, did not give her such great background. She talked mostly about the general wars and history -- but in terms of describing the buildings, and monuments -- not so great. My tour book had more interesting details of what we saw. She also surprisingly did not understand that civil and criminal law in Quebec is different than in the other provinces. I thought the young tour guide of the residence at the Citadelle did a much better job in her tour. Rather disappointing I am sad to say.
This tour was a worthwhile first orientation to Vieux Montreal. Our guide was entertaining and knowledgeable though the tour was geared to a not sophisticated tourist. Could have done with more detailed historical and architectural focus; fewer humorous anecdotes.
Montreal was very nice. Clean, nice people and no fear of dangers anywhere we went. Our guide was helpful and informative. It rained some on day of tour but it was still great! Highly recommend the walking tours.
The guide was knowledgable and entertaining. I loved learning about the history of Montreal and the significant historical figures. We got more than our money's worth as the tour lasted close to 2 hrs. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
In general, we liked it. There was a heat wave, so going with my three kids (ages 15/12/12) became a bit long, but we all were glad we went. One comment, although our tour host was good about walking pace, etc., he almost LOST US! We were coming out of the Notre Dame Basilica and I guess we were the last; I was looking around and thinking we had lost the group, when a man from the group waved. The tour guide, however, was already half-way down the street. Maybe a better way would be to stop outside the church where we first met for the tour and do a head count? By the way, his joke about why the man is actually collapsed in a woman's arms outside a hospital has been repeated and laughed at a dozen more times since we arrived home.
Our tour guide was not only knowledgable, but he had a good sense of humor. He also spoke perfect English.
