We were a bit concerned as our pick up at the hotel was late. The lines we had to wait in to trade our voucher for a ticket, and then to board the bus, were both rather lengthy. Once on the bus, our guide did a good job of giving us the history and other information at all the stops. This was a good overview of the city, but I'm glad I had time to walk around Old Montreal a bit more later.
The walking tour was great and it was well worth the 2 hours, gave you some great incite into old Montreal. Entrance is included into the basilica. Gave some great locations to visit after the tour was over.
This tour is an absolute must do. The guide, Angie, was great! You will learn more about the history and architecture of Montreal by taking this tour than any other means. Take the tour early in your stay and use it as a reference for the rest of your stay in Old Montreal.
Tour was good though not enough time spent at Old Montreal. Would have been better to spend more time here and less at the Biodome and going through Universities. Really, who cares what times the Law lectures are on, we're on holidays people!
It was very nice being picked up and dropped back at our hotel after the tour, and the guide was engaging and informative and funny. Once we were picked up we were brought to the ticket booth where we had to wait in line for tickets even though we had purchased them on line, which was bothersome. Although it was advertised as a 3 hour tour, it was only 2 1/2 hours; for $45 each we wanted a full 3 hours! We did see the major sights, like Mount Royal and the Olympic Stadium and Village, but the majority of time is spent navigating city traffic while the driver pointed out various office buildings. We'd recommend the walking tour of Old Montreal and using public transportation to see Mount Royal and Notre Dame and the botanical gardens instead of this bus tour.
An excellent tour. Guide was well versed in history and interesting facts about old Montreal. Would highly recomment this tour.
Our guide was excellent and his knowledge made our trip that much better. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Montreal as a great way to learn about Notre Dame and Old Montreal's history and architecture.
Perfect beginning to our vacation in Old Montreal.Guide left exactly on time, was personable and knowledgeable. We saw sites we would have never explored on our own. I noticed people paying that morning (with no reservations) paying slightly less than we did. Hmm. Still worth the $20 pp.
Great tour guide, very informative and funny too. Showed us all the great sites of Old Montreal. We knew where to go to eat afterward and where to walk around and what we wanted to see again.
A fun walking tour to see the historical churches, banks and cobblestone streets of Old Montreal. Well organized, even on a busy holiday weekend. A nice tour guide who was very well informed.
It was a good tour of the city. It covered a good variety of what I expected. There were a few things I didn't care for about the tour. There wasn't enough time spent on Old Montreal. It would have been nice to tour the Notre Dame. Also I was of the understanding that the tour would be in English only. But it was bilingual and therefore I don't believe the tour guide had enough time to explain more about the history, etc. of the buildings and area we were covering. Also, I was of the understanding that we would be on one of the open topped buses. Because it was a greyhound type of bus and i was sitting on the wrong side of the bus, I was unable to see a lot of the Mount Royal area since it was on the other side of the bus.
This tour was so good, the guide was a woman from Russia with a soft English and lots of information about Old Montreal. The weather was not good but the tour was perfect considering the visited places and the received information
Great tour....guide walked to fast and did not have a guide speaking voice...she was too quiet for the crowd....loved Old Montreal area
Great way to tour old Montreal. Our tour guide was very pleasant, knowledgeable, effusive, and happy to answer any questions. Tour is two hours, which is probably not enough to go into great depth but definitely enough to whet your appetite and provide you with good ideas for further exploration. Really recommend that you do this as early as possible in your stay so that you can use what you learn to plan the rest of your vacation. Good value for the money and much better than the bus tours which fly by most sites (that said, this tour is focused on Old Montreal, so you may want to supplement with some other activities to get a feel for the rest of the city).
