Comment from Natalie Grant
Montreal‘s Old-World architecture creates an atmosphere that goes well with wintertime—the cobblestone, the history, and even the chocolate are a superb fit for winter visits. However, just because it’s cold out doesn’t mean you have to stay inside in museums and cafes! Montreal prides itself on being a top winter destination; here are some activities to add a little fun (and romance) to your trip to Quebec.
There are (literally) hundreds of places to go ice-skating in Montreal. A good choice is Beaver Lake on Mont Royal, which is 2,500 square meters (26,910 square feet). Another great option is the Old Port’s Bonsecours Basin—perfect for spontaneous skating since it’s right downtown and has a great view.
