Romantic Things to Do in Montreal
Written by Jessica F, February 2013
For couples looking for a romantic getaway, Montreal has much to offer. While the cobblestone streets and 17th-century architecture of Old Montreal present an enchanting atmosphere, the many parks and gardens in the city provide ambient picnicking and hiking grounds. To help you plan a romantic itinerary in Montreal, here are some suggestions.
Take in the view
Located in central Montreal, the 764-foot Mount Royal is
a giant hill offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city. There
is the leisurely Mount Royal Park at the top, and visitors can enjoy
horseback riding, picnicking, a sculpture garden and many scenic lookout
points for enjoying aerial views of Montreal. The romantic Observatoire
de l’Est is also a popular viewing spot for couples. To get to the top,
you can take Bus 11 or opt for the gentle four-mile hike to the summit.
