The start of Advent season brings the traditional Christmas markets to the squares and streets of Munich. The most well-known market is Christkindlmarkt, located in Marienplatz. The twinkiling holiday lights against the backdrop of Munich's oldest buildings and the smell of gingerbread in the air create a festive ambiance only found at the German Christmas markets. Find the Yuletide spirit shopping for gifts amongst the stalls selling candies, crafts, and cakes.
The most popular stalls of the Christkindlmarkt include the Nativity Scene, Zwetschgamännla (figures made of decorated dried plums), carved nutcrackers, candied almonds, Christstollen (egg bread), Bratwurst, and glass Christmas tree decorations. Visitors will also want to warm up with a glass of mulled wine or Eierpunsch while walking around the market.
Located in the hub of pedestrian traffic the Christkindlmarkt at Marienplatz is the perfect place to experience Bavarian Christmas traditions through the markets. The views from the Christkindlmarkt include the snow-capped Alps, a perfect setting to get in the spirit for a white Christmas.

Doing what: Four Day Christmas Delight - Leipzig, Dresden and Plauen
Great Tour, high standard of hotel accommodation, and very knowlegeable English speaking guide. The Christmas Markets chosen were many and varied.
Four days is the ideal period for this type of Tour, and we particularly liked certian parts of Eastern Germany. Highly recommended.

Doing what: Four Day Christmas Delight - Leipzig, Dresden and Plauen
The Four Day Christmas Delight - Leipzig, Dresden and Plauen Tour was truly wonderful. The guide (Gregory) and Driver (Armin) were superb, both of them were very professional, nice and kind. The castles, churches and old little towns were historical and typical to demonstrate the Eastern Germany styles. I particularly enjoyed the winter wonderland sceneries along the journey from Dresden to Plauen. The German Christmas Markets and beautiful festive decorations were the highlights. The weather was cold and sometimes snowy, lowest was minus 11 degree celcius . Must dress warm enough for this tour! Recommended!

Doing what: Munich Christmas Markets Tour
Myself and my wife enjoyed a fantastic day touring the Christmas markets with our guide Adam. Without the tour we would probably have experienced less than half of what Munich and the markets has to offer. This tour is a must is you are visiting the markets. P.S. ask for Adam the tour guide!
