The restorative mineral springs of Calistoga have attracted people since the 19th century. Today, with its quaint, historic main street, this small town draws many urbanites, who want to come and unwind and soak up those rejuvenating waters or take a roll in the hot volcanic ash known as a mud bath.
A great place to finish off a day of wine tasting in Napa Valley, Calistoga beckons with numerous spas that provide access to mineral waters, mud baths, Jacuzzis, massages and, of course, wine. It’s definitely a casual vibe here, and even more laid-back than you’ll find in the valley's southern towns. Come for a treatment, or stay in the motel, which also includes access to the baths.
