Doing what: Naples Shore Excursion: Pompeii Half-day Trip from Naples
It was a nice tour! Before the tour, we were confused at whether it was required to do the 24 hour confirmation. We were unable to due to coming from our cruise, and the uncertainty created anxiety previous to the tour. Our organizer for the day of the tour was informative and wonderful to be around. She informed us about all the details of our day, which we appreciated. Our actual tour in Pompeii was very informative. Our guide did not provide us enough time to take pictures or to look around on our own. He seemed irritated if we decided to do so. We loved hearing the stories, but also wanted time to capture the location. Just seemed like we were on such a tight schedule that no interruptions were allowed. Viator overall provided us with a great experience though!

Doing what: Mt Vesuvius and Pompeii Day Trip from Naples
Doing the guided tour was definately the best way to make use of my short time at Pompeii. The guide was very friendly, funny and informative and was able to use his knowledge to provide a much better understanding and appreciation for Pompeii then I would have had just wondering around on my own or with an audio guide. Only negative to the trip was Mt Vesuvius was covered in cloud when we got to the top so literally only got to see the footpath.

Doing what: Naples City and Pompeii Half Day Sightseeing Tour
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour although the best part is Pompeii. Our guide had a great sense of humour and was extremely knowledgable on all aspects of our tour which made it not only interesting, but fun as well. Didn't realise until too late that after visiting Pompeii, there was another trip after lunch to Vesuvius which would have liked to have taken. Many thanks to our guide and driver they were great.

Guide was on time to the hotel pick up; very interesting tour guide; Pompeii was great, but for 90$? pricey, but a good tour - you decide! Pompeii is hard to figure out, so a guide was definitely an asset.

Doing what: Naples City and Pompeii Half Day Sightseeing Tour
I was initially picked up from my hotel by the wrong tour company, who dishonestly said that we belonged on their bus. Apparently this has happened before, and then later on that tour they tell you, you are on the wrong bus and charge you again.
Andrea found my husband and I on mobile, and arranged with the bus driver to pick us up at the next hotel. He had even called our hotel multiple times to locate us and they told him no one under our name was staying at the hotel. I am guessing they have some arrangement to get commission from this other company.
Andrea was fantastic and our driver, Raffaele were fantastic. Andrea was knowledgeable, humorous and was obviously proud of his city. I would recommend the tour to anyone. Naples is not the kind of my place I would like to negotiate by myself, having Andrea made us feel at ease and helped us make the most of the day we had to see Naples and Pompeii.

Doing what: Mt Vesuvius and Pompeii Day Trip from Naples
Pompeii was amazing. However I think it is the kind of place that might be better suited for walking around alone, or at least for a longer tour. I felt like we only saw a small fraction of this amazing old city that it would have been great fun to really explore. In particular we were not shown the large theater or the amphitheater. I would have like to spend at least twice as long in Pompeii. After Pompeii we were served a slightly rushed dinner at a tourist restaurant nearby, where we could choose between pizza with tomato and pasta with tomato (boring). For the trip to Vesuvius we were given another guide. We were only driven to the foot of the tourist path to the top, and was left to walk up alone. Apparently we were supposed to rely on one of the site-associated guides for an explanation of the volcano. This on-site guide was frankly boring, spoke a very bad English, and expected a separate tip.
The itinerary was good, and the trip was worth it, but the guides seemed lazy and rushed.

Doing what: Pompeii Half-day Trip from Naples
Very organised getting to and from the hotel. Staff friendly and obliging and tour informative, with the right touch of humour thrown in. However, I specifically asked for a tour that was only in English (a tour being repeated in different languages is both time consuming and irritating) and this one was in both English and French, which was disappointing.

Disappointing tour. We were the only English speaking tourists on this tour as the others were French. Due to this the explanations were done in French first and then in English which did not allow us time to look at the things that were being explained. Not the fault of the tour guide as she did the best she could do but tour operator could have been better organised. We organised the tour in December and attended the tour in March so they had plenty of time to organise it better.

Doing what: Mt Vesuvius and Pompeii Day Trip from Naples
Wow, what a wonderful trip! We were picked up at our hotel on time, and our guide and driver were excellent! Pompei is just amazing and our guide was so informative and interesting, he really made the place come alive for us! Vesuvius too was quite thrilling, altho its a much less detailed and much shorter tour. The +- 1 mile trek to the volcano edge was tough but definitely worth doing - all in all, it was great value for money and I would not hesitate to recommend it

Pompeii should be more elaborate. Otherwise overall very good.

This was one of our favorite tours. The tour guide was informative and funny, unfortunately Mt. Vesuvius was closed due to weather conditions. We were sad when it ended.
