If you are in Nashville, leave the city and see the history! It was beautiful and so well worth every minute!
Very informative. The driver was very accommodating. We liked that they shared the video about the Hermitage on the drive so we didn't have to waste our tour watching it once we got there.
United States of America
We love taking in history tours when we travel and the Hermitage and Belle Meade Plantations gave us so much history. Hermitage is about Andrew Jackson our 16th President and Belle Meade is about Billy Jackson no relation to Andrew and about the breeding of thoroughbred horses like Seabiscuit, Secretariat and other Kentucky Derby winners. We stopped and had lunch in between visiting each plantation.
Very informational and pleasant tour. The guide/driver friendly and curteous.
Our bus driver was very knowledgeable about the sites and additional sites we passed in transit. He was very friendly and accommodating. The sites were splendid, and I very much enjoyed each of them. Will definitely recommend and do this again. The only thing I would change is the amount of time at the Hermitage was too short for full enjoyment - we spent less time here than at the Belle Meade, and the Hermitage had much more in the way of grounds and just area to see. Other than that, it was quite enjoyable.
The tour driver was great. Loved the tours but we did feel rushed. Didn't really have enough time in each of our stops. Needed less time for lunch...more time spent visiting plantation and Hermitage . Perhaps lunch at Bell Meade?
This tour was amazing!
Beautiful grounds and knowledgable historians
Loved this trip! Our guide was amazing and his knowledge of ALL of Nashville was unreal! Thanks for another great trip, Viator!
Excellent tour. Loved The Hermitage and Belle Meade Plantation. Both sites well worth the $.
The driver was almost 30 minutes late in picking us up from the designated location (we arrived 30 mins. early and that means we waited for almost an hour). The description mentioned lunch (optional) at The Hermitage House which turns out to be a Denny's type place in town (no where near The Hermitage) and was a so-so buffet. Very disappointing. Lastly, the driver had an unusual speech pattern which included a "tsk" sound in which he sucked his teeth at the end of almost every sentence.
Very enjoyable tour.
Great sites but I don't think the 90+ price tag was justified.
The sites are worth seeing. However, a museum was closed for renovations, so we were not able to enter. I thought the tour guides would talk more about the historic time period as it relates to the house and less about the portraits of the people who have lived in the house at Belle Meade. The restaurant food at the place we stopped for lunch was not very good, but they can accommodate large numbers of people easily.
This tour was amazing!
Really nice tour....both houses are worth seeing but more time needed at Belle as that was rushed and there's more to see there than at the Hermitage.
Don't expect too much at lunch as it was a basic buffet.
The buildings were wonderful and the guides were terrific. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate so there was no way to explore the grounds and other outside buildings.
Great tour! Our driver was great and very informative. Everything on time. Very interesting tour.
Bus driver very knowledgeable. Tour Guides at plantations were professional and also knew their facts.
Very enjoyable and informative day trip. Guide was knowledgeable and personable. Would definitely book again. This is our third Viator booking in three different countries and we have never been disappointed
Driver Tom was timely, courteous and drove safely. Provided good information before each stop. Hermitage was more interesting than Belle Meade. Highly recommend tour for those who do not want the anxiety of driving to unfamiliar locations. Not sure this could have been done by taxis. Well worth the cost. Also, the lunch stop was reasonably priced and decent food.
Had a good time. Will tell friend about it.
It's a great tour - a well looked after historical property.
All of our guides were very informative and knowledgable.
Plenty of time to take the tour, wander around for some happy snaps and a cold drink at the end before being picked up.
PS It would have been nice to be able to take photos inside the property.
The trip itself was great. The bus tours are the same as we used in New York.We were taken around The Hermitage, home of the 7th President of the USA, Andrew Jackson, by costumed guides who were extremely knowledgeable. At lunch, we stopped at a high quality all-you-can eat buffet, the food was delicious and the people we were with were very friendly. Belle Meade, a thorough bred horse farm, was our next stop. Great too! Th only downside was that the coach picked up from a few hotels, and was therefore running about an hour late - and this time didn't appear to be made up as we still returned at the given hour.
