We booked the Saturday, 05/11/13 Negril Sightseeing Tour with Sunset at Rick’s Café Tour for two that was scheduled for a 7:20am departure from our Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort. I called for reservation date/time confirmation on Tuesday, 05/07/13 and also went to the JTL Desk in the Resort to reconfirm the date/time on Friday Morning, 05/10/13. I was told everything was in order and to be available at least 10 minutes before the departure time.

We arrived at 7:09am and waited in the Lobby. At 7:20am, I asked the Bellman whether the Tour Bus was running late. A very nice gentleman, Lawrence Mitchell with a JTL Badge stepped forward to assist me. He mentioned that it was now 7:22am and that the Tour always leaves from that particular resort at 7am. I explained that I had confirmed verbally with two different JTL representatives that it left at 7:20am and that time was on the VIATOR voucher.

Mr. Mitchell looked at the voucher, requested names and then made several hurried phone calls. He arranged for another Bus to immediately pick us up to catch up with the Negril Tour Bus. We were dropped off at a Resort on the route and the Negril Tour Bus picked us up. The Negril Driver Hudson and the Guide Claudine were very kind and did not make us feel responsible for the miscommunication. It was also mentioned to the other Tour participants that when in Jamaica there aren’t any problems, only situations. And you can always find a way to remedy a situation.

The Team of Claudine and Hudson are great. They are two of the most engaging guides and drivers I have encountered in my 16 years of visiting Jamaica. They work together making the ride interesting and fun. You can tell they have a loyalty to the JTL Company as well a pride in their positions.

We had a wonderful day with the planned activities and everyone on the Tour. I want to commend your representatives: Lawrence Mitchell, Claudine and Hudson. Please let them know they are greatly appreciated.

Had a fabulous trip from Montego Bay to Negril. Would highly recommend it.

There wasn't much sightseeing, we were dropped @ Margarita ville in Negril for many hours, got a bit boring and then went to Ricks. Got harassed on the beach at Margarita ville to buy anything and everything. The food and drinks were good at Margarita ville although at our own expense.

Doing what: Negril Sightseeing Tour with Sunset at Rick’s Cafe

This was a Super LOOONG day. The bus picked us up at our Ocho Rios Hotel at 7:30 in the morning. We picked up people from 4 other hotels then proceeded to Negril. Stopped at Margaritaville and spent 3 1/2 hours on the beach there. Way too long. Next we Went souvenir shopping at a strip mall type place less than a mile away. Finished up the day at Ricks. The cliff divers are a must see if you go to Jamaica. You also have an opportunity to jump in yourself if you want. Skip the food at Ricks. It's really bad and so crowded it will be cold when it arrives. It's better to eat at Margaritaville or at the little snack places while shopping. The drive back to the hotel seems really long since everyone is so exhausted. We got back at almost 10pm. The tour guide on the bus was really good though. Learned a lot about Jamaica.

Enjoyed Margarittaville, and the shopping in Negril. Ricks Place is the biggest ripoff I have ever encountered on an excursion. From the time we stepped off the bus we were beggeD for money. They wanted tips before anybody would jump? How about diving and then pass the bucket. When the "Tip Man" with the bucket didn't think we gave enough he got nasty with us. You should stop selling this part of the excursion, it ruined what was a nice day out. Darlene the tour guide was wonderful and Leonard I would never hesitate to use again for a representative for your company.

It was awesome sunset!! The tour was great but if you go on Sunday know that shopping part of tour will be light not very many shops are open on sunday.

Doing what: Negril Sightseeing Tour with Sunset at Rick’s Cafe

Was under the impression the tour started in Montego Bay not Negril. Was unable to enjoy Negril as the beach was flooded with Jamacians trying to sell you drugs and other things. I also didn't know that you are 'stuck' at Margaritaville if it starts to rain and the people on the beach never leave you alone. Ricks Cafe was nice, but you don't get to sit anywhere as it is super busy and are unable to get food. Overall, it was an okay, long long day, but the tour could be described better. If it was described as it actually happens, I wouldn't have went on it.

Great tour but not long enough at sun set stop

Very nice tour. Food is very expensive though.

Was well worth the money

The tour was a lot of fun and the travel guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour to everyone visiting Montego Bay.

This tour was ok. They drove us to a beach in Negril out in front of Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville and we stayed there for 2-3 hours. Then they took us shopping and to Ricks cafe for the sunset. I didn't really feel like I saw "Negril", I just felt like I layed out at a different beach and saw some cliff divers. So, it was just ok.

Everything about it was wonderful, From the tour guides to sunset. The only recommendation I would have is to not travel alone if you're a woman. The local men are very persistant, but be firm!

The tour was fantastic. Very professional, the bus was very comfortable. My only complaint would be that we scheduled it through Viator for Saturday and when we confirmed at our resort we were told they don't do tours from that particular resort on Saturday so we had to move it to Sunday.
