Except for the being told that we had to wait for a later date to take excursions because not enough at the time and we had a flat tire with our excursion plus it rained on the posponed. The excursion itself was very good. We enjoy using viator for excursions. If is wan't for us to notify of course 24 hours in advance we were wondering if we would of been notified of the delay.
Had a great time especially thanks to Damian the guide - he was very fun and knowledgeable about the history of Jamaica.
This was the best adventure ever!! Our tour guide Damain AKA Da Man was very entertaining and made our adventure much more exciting. I recommended this trip to others at the resort as a must do. On this tour, you will be able to see soooo much of Monetego Bay in the 5hr timeframe. Jamaica is so beautiful! At the end of the tour, you will get lunch which for us was jerk chicken. OMG! It was soooo good! Get to booking!
Our driver never introduced himself to us. This was my sister's birthday and I wanted to do something to celebrate her special day. This was the only tour in Negril that day. Teh driver didn't give any local history which you would expect on a paid tour. I asked questions but he didn't have any thing to contribute. We asked the driver where he was taking us and he said that was up to us. The tour was supposed to be a highlight of Negril. This was our first time in Jamaica. He didn't know where we were supposed to go and how long we were to stay at a particular location. I suggested some spots to go to like the craft market,Time Square shopping center and the lighthouse. We ended our tour at Rick's. We felt rushed while at Rick's once the sun set. this felt like we just hired a taxi driver to take us from point A to point B.
I met a wonderful group of peopleon this tour! You do not have to wear a bathing suit if you don't mind getting a little wet, I didn't want to go under the water. You do need a pair of water shoes. It was a great time! I took lots of great pics on this tour. It is long, so your whole day is basically gone, but seeing the beautiful country and mountains and rivers are worth it.
We saw a lot of historic ruins from the 1700's which I found fascinating. We also saw a lot of wild life. I don't recommend this tour if you have back issues because the tour is very bumpy in the jeep. We stopped and had lunch at a little place that served great jerk chicken at a reasonable price. The tour was long so a great deal of your day will be away from your resort--just an FYI
The tour was amazing. Worth every penny. We would have enjoyed the tour no matter what, but our guide Demain was the best ever. When he took us to the waterfalls he took several pictures. I scraped my leg on a rock and he insisted he put iodine on it when I wanted to blow it off (a good thing). He had a ton of knowledge and answered every question we asked, including about his personal life. You get to see a old slave hospital/current day church. He stops to show you lots of different plants. A very fun trip with lots of photo opportunities.
This was the best tour we had been on while in Jamaica. The driver and the tour guide introduced themselves to the group. They gave us local history and fork lore that made the long 3 hr trip enjoyable. We stop for a break and they let us take pictures at a beach. Get something to drink and just stretch our legs. The riverboat captain was great he told us about the crocodiles and he even had one come to the boat so we could take a picture up close. YS Falls was beautiful My sister really enjoyed this part of the tour. We were given time to explore on our own. The climb up the stairs to the different levels of the waterfall was difficult at times, but they had guides to help you. The Appleton Rum Estate was nice. They greeted us with a rum punch when we arrived. We had a traditional Jamaican meal of Jerk chicken, peas and rice and local vegetables. On the drive home the driver stopped so we could buy snacks from the local food vendors along the road. This tour gave you a real since of life on the island.I would take this tour again.
The Black River Safari and YS Falls were great. They were worth every penny. I could have done without the rum tour.
For our first trip to Jamaica, we had nothing but a great time. We met a lot of good people, and even made some Jamaican friends. We felt welcome the whole time we were there. Thanks for the memories!
