A very good tour with a personal driver who met us as we arrived off our flight at DEL.He even lent us money to tip the baggage porters until we could get to an ATM. Apart from getting temporarily lost on outskirts of Delhi we couldn't fault him ! Then drove to Agra where he showed us best places for the photos. In Jaipur we were provided with local guide. Hotels were good quality and staff were very welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend this tour.
The journey started almosr an hour late because the the driver had some late night trip. It takes 4 hour travel to Agra. Due to inproper planning we have to skip Fatehpur sikri trio. Our understanding is that it require one and half hour journey from Agra and Agra to Delhi another 5 and half hour jorney.
Enter your review here. What an exciting drive from Delhi to Agra and Jaipur. We had an excellent driver his name is Prahlad Prasad. it's hair raising to be on the the road in India, but Prahlad Handle it with ease and confidence. Our local guides in Agra and Jaipur were excellent. Mehran Uddin in Agra was so well informed and very accommodating. Our guide in Jaipur was also excellent. I Would definitively recommend taking this tour in the comfort of your own car, driver and tour guides. The only way to go in India John C and Clorinda
The trip is wonderful, but way too long. We had terrible traffic jams. Please consider the train to Agra to meet your guide. Our trip was 14 hours/12 in the car.
One of the best tours we had so far. Our guide, Mr. Mehran Uddin, was very knowledgable and attentive to our needs.
Higlhy recommended. Although was dissapointed that the driver was not happy with my tipping amount. Felt so bad at the end i gave him just a little more.
Although getting to see the Taj Mahal was absolutely amazing, the drive itself and the tour guide could have been better. The driver got into an accident on the way to Agra, and had me step outside the car (onto a VERY busy road) while 12 people ran out from the side of the road to "lift" the car off of the truck that it was stuck on. This delayed our arrival to Agra, upon which the driver told the tour guide that he hoped the "accident" was not going to affect his trip! Although the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort, I did not appreciate being taken to shops that he would he would get commissions from. I was taken into basements of buildings with doors closed behind me - and felt very uncomfortable. Even after I expressed my displeasure at being taken to the first stop, I was taken to another shop with a similar method of "shopping". If you say you don't want to purchase something, you are taken into a room of "cheaper" stuff that they hope you will purchase. I felt compelled to purchase something just so they would let me out of the store - which made me completely uncomfortable. The drive was long, but the sights were amazing. Recommend this type of travel for a single woman traveling alone.
Unforgettable experience. Our driver was great. Our guide in Agra was very knowledgeable as well as our guide in Jaipur where we did most of our shopping (textiles and jewelry) . Be prepared to spend 5+ hours (distance plus traffic) driving 3 of the 4 days between cities. The accommodations provided were average but you don't spent too much time in the room. We would have been lost without our driver and guides. This is the best way to see this amazing area.
Excellent, excellent tour, with very good driver who was fluent in English and took us every where we wanted to go. He was very friendly and helped us all the way. The local guides at both Agra and Jaipur were very good.
I have used Viator in Jordan, China, etc and I have to say this was my most disappointing tour. The driver was rude and reckless. Talking on his phone the entire drive, and making no effort to talk to us. The guide at the Taj was informative and nice. Spent 10+ hours driving and didn't even get to see anything besides the Taj and briefly Agra Fort. Fatehpur Sikri is 40km away and I feel advertising it as part of the tour is misleading (It takes hours to go even 50km near Agra). My guide said maybe 1:10 tours has enough time to make it there. Yet, we still had time to be taken to tourist shops and forced to listen to a sales pitch. No effort was made to partially refund us, or rectify the fact that this tour was completely infeasible to do. There are much better ways to make it to the Taj Mahal (i.e. train) and plenty of tour guides there. Save your money, and book elsewhere.
Decent tour, not the best I've ever been on, but I appreciated the safety of hiring a car for the tour.
Great trip. Worth doing if you want a more structured/organised itinerary. Our guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and knew intricate details about the 2 monuments.
Please note, it is a 5hr car ride each way from New Delhi. No scheduled refreshment stops along the way, so if you need, you will have to ask. The driver didn't speak much english, so good idea to get the hotel staff translate what you want before leaving. Don't expect much from the transport car, it is only an old simple bomb, but I guess it's all part of the experience! The tour guide will meet you in Agra.
Wear walking shoes, there is no dress sense in India and the more ill-fitting your clothes are the better.
At the Taj Mahal, get your photos taken by the local 'photographers'. Should cost about 50 - 100 rupees, and they aren't too bad. There are heaps of them, and you won't need to find them, they will find you. Remember don't pay until the end, as you are leaving they will come and find you.
Note on tips: If they don't charge you a service charge on your bill, then leave a tip of about 50-100 rupees. Otherwise, the service charge is about 3-5%. However, we tipped the guide about 500 rupees.
Note on Hawkers: There will be many hawkers attempting to either sell you stuff or beg. Trick seems to be not to give them any attention (no looking at them, never talk to them, don't say no or anything and just keep moving or doing your own thing) They will eventually leave. If you engage in any way, they will follow you everywhere, even to the loo.
Overall, great experience.
Amazing experience, but be prepared for a very long day with traffic, etc. Our driver was excellent, including making it though several nasty traffic jams. The tour guide was very knowledgable and took care to get us into the shade when he wanted to explain some of the aspects of the site. The restaurant for lunch was very clean and had excellent food.
