This is a trip of a lifetime! We had a wonderful day in Agra and Taj Mahal. This is our third Viator tour two in Thailand at a different visit, and this one and we have not been dissapointed at any of them. This particular trip is a long day, as we left around 7 am and returned about 10 pm to our hotel, but it was worth it. The guide in the car was average, but the guide that was contracted to give the tour of the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort was very good and served both as guide and photographer. Our family of five was the totatily of the group, so this was a very personalized trip and the late return was really because we chose to take it very leasurely. For anyone visitng New Delhi, this is a must.

Doing what: Private Tour: Agra and the Taj Mahal Day Trip from Delhi
It was a full, rich day from Delhi to Agre. A private car, driver and guide leader drove us to the Taj Mahal and Red Fort providing us with a weath of information along the way. Once we arrived at the famous sights, another guide from the local area took over. He was very knowledgable and passionate about the hstory and architecture of the Taj Mahal. We were taken to a wonderfully tasty and very affordable restaurant for lunch. Aside from the brutal July heat and humidity, it was a great and truly memorable day. One should not go to Dehli without seeing he Taj Mahal, and this is definetly the way to see it! Many thanks Viator!

Excellent tour, excellent guide and excellent driver! Although it's tough visiting all 3 places in just 1 day, our guides did not rush through the sites and explanations. We had an amazing day with 2 very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable guides. Our day was very flexible unlike the usual rushed and rigid schedule of tours. Before we left Agra, we even managed to find some nice local dosa eatery thanks to our guide and not eat at some touristy restaurant. He even went out of the way to get us some Agra delicacy to take home. Long drive to and back from Agra, but the sights along the way (including the trucks and jams) were an eye opener. One of the guides also happened to be an excellent photog, took great pixs for us. Highly recommend this trip. Viator and the tour agency from Delhi did a great job!

The guide, Nitu, definitely made the tour. He was informative, entertaining and took very good care of all of us. He warned us, beforehand, of the hawkers and what to not say. He also made sure that we saw the right things, at the right times. Also, during the long ride out to the Taj, he kept us entertained on the bus. The Taj was spectacular, and definitely not to be missed.

Doing what: Private Tour: Agra and the Taj Mahal Day Trip from Delhi
Overall very satisfied with this 1 day trip. We the family members of 3 have been provided a very comfortable 4-wheel drive vehicle fitted with individual single seating space. Though the journey time from Delhi -Agra-Delhi was bit hectic but our guide-cum Escort from Delhi kept us occupied with local information and stories. On arrival to Agra we were provided a local guide who was very friendly and knowledgeable, took us to Tajmahal and Agra Red Fort. Though it was very wintery time with fog and mist but by the time we arrived Tajmahal, sun appeared and we were delighted to have magnificent view of one of wonders of world! We were then taken to very authentic Indian restaurant for lunch followed by marble souvenir shopping. Next destination of Agra Fort was equally fabulous. Really got impressed to see huge red forts with many historical landmarks inside. Thanks viator and your Delhi based tour company for making our trip memorable!

This tour was one of the highlights of our visit to India. Our guide, Imran Khan, was quite knowledgeable and informative about the history and everything surrounding the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. We really enjoyed his service.

Amazing experience, but be prepared for a very long day with traffic, etc. Our driver was excellent, including making it though several nasty traffic jams. The tour guide was very knowledgable and took care to get us into the shade when he wanted to explain some of the aspects of the site. The restaurant for lunch was very clean and had excellent food.

Great trip. Worth doing if you want a more structured/organised itinerary. Our guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and knew intricate details about the 2 monuments.
Please note, it is a 5hr car ride each way from New Delhi. No scheduled refreshment stops along the way, so if you need, you will have to ask. The driver didn't speak much english, so good idea to get the hotel staff translate what you want before leaving. Don't expect much from the transport car, it is only an old simple bomb, but I guess it's all part of the experience! The tour guide will meet you in Agra.
Wear walking shoes, there is no dress sense in India and the more ill-fitting your clothes are the better.
At the Taj Mahal, get your photos taken by the local 'photographers'. Should cost about 50 - 100 rupees, and they aren't too bad. There are heaps of them, and you won't need to find them, they will find you. Remember don't pay until the end, as you are leaving they will come and find you.
Note on tips: If they don't charge you a service charge on your bill, then leave a tip of about 50-100 rupees. Otherwise, the service charge is about 3-5%. However, we tipped the guide about 500 rupees.
Note on Hawkers: There will be many hawkers attempting to either sell you stuff or beg. Trick seems to be not to give them any attention (no looking at them, never talk to them, don't say no or anything and just keep moving or doing your own thing) They will eventually leave. If you engage in any way, they will follow you everywhere, even to the loo.
Overall, great experience.

Unforgettable experience. Our driver was great. Our guide in Agra was very knowledgeable as well as our guide in Jaipur where we did most of our shopping (textiles and jewelry) . Be prepared to spend 5+ hours (distance plus traffic) driving 3 of the 4 days between cities. The accommodations provided were average but you don't spent too much time in the room. We would have been lost without our driver and guides. This is the best way to see this amazing area.
