Unfortunately my husband and I were the only 2 people booked on this tour, which in itself would not have been too much of a problem except the tour guide was not very outgoing or talkative. We therefore struggled to make conversation and felt the whole evening was a waste of time and money.
Fun and informative, especially when you first arrive in the city. But there were so many tours going, there were groups at every corner of the Quarter, day and night, all with a guide with a slightly different story competing to be heard.
We downloaded this tour onto our iPhones and each listened with earphones. It worked well as a walking tour. We did it in two pieces and stopped at a lot of spots on the way. The route was good and loved the concept, but the commentary was a bit 'thin.' Good intro to the French Quarter, but I'd supplement with a 'live' specialty walking tour, i.e., restaurant tour.
This tour was great for myself having never been to the city and needing guidance in what to see. However, the entire tour could very easily be experienced on your own. For what it was it was good, especially since the guide provides insight into the city that you wouldn't have received otherwise.
The diner was good. The guide was too old and we walked only with 3 persons, not a group like we thought it would be. We saw bourbon street and had a drink with live jazz music, but it was very short. We don't recommend this tour. You can go on your own to bourbon street. It's easely to do.
This was a good tour, but the guide was a little slow. I was expecting more history and unknown-to-the-general-public kinds of facts. The best part was the opportunity to tour the Ursuline Convent, which I would never have discovered on my own. The tour was definitely worth doing, but by the time I took the tour, I had found most of the places on my own.
Had a great night out and learnt so much in a short time about New Orleans. Our tour guide was an elderly woman who knew the town like the back of her hand.We had a ball.
I have been to New Orleans before and was visiting this time with my husband, who was there on business. Since I was on my own, I thought I would try this audio tour and really enjoyed it. There was enough information to make it interesting and not too much to make the tour too long.
We had a fantastic afternoon touring the French Quarter. I attribute this to our guide. She had great information about the city and its history and she interjected some humor. Honestly she made the entire tour well worth it. This is a great tour if you want to really see the quarter and learn about New Orleans and its history. I would highly recommend this tour.
A great way to spend an evening, especially if you are traveling alone. Our guide was very educational, fun and the perfect host. Dinner companions were pleasant. Great food and entertainment.
