good tour....toobad it was so hot. Felt a little isolated out there once the bus left us for awhile but Sandi had it under control. It was very interesting all the info she provided us with.
If I could give this a lower review, I would! I feel good that the money goes to the right place, a nonprofit org. however, they need to do better with their material! The gift of gris gris was nice but our tour guide was terrible, super boring, we left our group to wonder on our own, then they left us! So, I basically paid over $50 for a free ride of a couple of blocks, to a place I could have walked to on my own, and gotten the exact same amount of information. SAVE YOUR MONEY, GO WITH YOUR OWN GROUP, BRING A BOOK ABOUT THE CEMETERY, EDUCATE YOURSELF! Then, donate to the foundation for the upkeep, although, not really sure what they're upkeeping...eeek. Waste of money
Always wnated to see the tomb of voodoo queen Marie Laveau as well as where the infamous sceen from the movie "Easy Rider" was filmed. Good fun and very interesting.
This is a great start to the history of New Orleans, Our guide (Pat) told the stories of the people who "live" there in a way that made them come alive...even telling us the scandal and gossip of their day. Especially interesting were the customs and rituals of the era and how it has translated to today. No feeling of being rushed through, yet Pat kept us moving. This tour is a MUST.
The guide was really cool and had interesting stories to tell. It was a fun experience where i learned a lot
I had heard that the New Orleans cemeteries are famous! Well let me tell you they are not, read a few paragraphs about them and then you will not have to waste your money. The guide 'Barbara' spent more time in my opinion bagging out her new manager. Take an airboat tour it much better value and entertaining.
We had a lovely tour guide that was very informative, but after the Vampire Tour we did the night before I guess we expected a few more spooky stories. There's little shade so take the early tour.
Interesting but some of the history was lost on us as we did not know who the people were. The guide was very interesting and her passion for the Cemetery was clear.
Interesting and unsettling. This cemetary is in such disrepair, it should be torn down. There are homeless people with brooms giving tours. The dead should be respected and remembered. Here, they are forgotten. The catholic church should be ashamed of themselves for the neglect of this historic cemetary. Our guide was wonderful, but there is only so much one can do to explain the diplorable conditions of this cemetary. I left feeling badly for those left there. I am writing a letter . You should too.
It was a great tour and the tour guide was very informative. This was my first time to New Orleans so fabulous!
