Our tour guide, Diane, was very knowledgeable and has a nice sense of humor. This was our first trip to New Orleans and this was a great way to get an overview of the city. There were only 7 of us on this tour so the seating was very comfortable and all sight lines for viewing were unobstructed. We have booked several tours in other cities through Viator and will continue to do so.
This tour was incrediable. As we were the only one's booked on this tour, they fitted us onto another tour that also include the Katrina sight seeing.
Driver was excellent. She had maps, pictures and so much information that was passed around the shuttle to show us how bad the cyclone was.
Very informative and we had a wonderful time.
Highly recommend this tour.
We totally enjoyed the tour. The tour guides were not only knowledgable but friendly. It was like we were their friends not just their guests. We felt like we were family. We enjoyed the Southern hospitality!!! Thank you so much. Joel and Sharon
Excellent tour. Guide had great insight. Anyone going to New Orleans post Katrina really should take this tour.
The most amazing tour I have ever been on. The guide/historian spent 4+ hours with us in a small van and took us everywhere. She went through it herself and was on the front lines rescuing people and animals. Even 8 years later a lot of the houses are still left with the holes in the roof, the debris about and sad stories. She explained what happened in each community to the levees, the storm canals, the houses, the people and the pets. Did you know that it is the law in the United States that BOTH people and their pets MUST be evacuated together. It turns out people died in New Orleans because they would not leave their pets behind. And then, when they were forced to leave, thousands of pets died. But the big story here is that the city has returned much stronger because they had to fight to keep it. You can feel the vitality and sense of renewal that began about 4 years ago. They have started to rebuild the houses in the 9th ward, in Saint Bernard and the other communities where that were flooded to the roof tops. They had to free up a lot of the bylaws and so there are shops, restaurants, bars open at all hours, they exist everywhere for everything and people seem a lot freer somehow. I highly recommend this tour.
Joseph, the driver, made this tour special. Joseph grew up in the area and lived through Katrina. Joseph's knowledge of the area and the history made this a memorable experience. Seeing the houses still shuttered down due to Katrina brings this tragedy to life.
I really enjoyed the tour. Very informative and interesting. I would definitely recommend it.
This was a wonderful trip and our guide was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. We wanted to see and understand how New Orleans experienced Katrina and was has come about since that time. This tour filled all of our expectations. We learned about all of the different neighborhoods, toured a graveyard and stopped off at the New Orleans park. We have been going to New Orleans for years and we were looking for something different. This tour was perfect. And we enjoyed the small group. Thank you for organizing this tour.
This tour was amazing. Our guide Joseph, gave us a detail history about what happened during the Katrina's hurricane flood, and the tragic time those people lived. We saw the levees and the abandoned houses marked with the X for the National Gard . Joseph was very nice and his knowledge about the city , the cemetery, the parks, gave us a background about the city we wanted to see.
The perfect introduction to New Orleans for us, first-time visitors, thanks especially to our amazing guide, Dylan.
This is a great tour to discover the different parts of New Orleans and it's history. Our tour was changed to include some post Katrina sights which was a bonus and other parts were removed. The small group allowed us to ask questions and get a more intimate feel for the place which is hard to do on a large tour. Our driver/guide Muriel had a deep knowledge of everything NOLA. She has a great presentation style that we found downright charming and funny. The tour operatour was very organized dealing with changes to the tour schedule. Recommended!
Our guide was very well informed and informative.
The tour was an excellent introduction to our New Orleans visit. It helped us choose the places we wanted to visit, oriented us to the "layout" of the districts so we were able to find our way around in them and answered our questions about the impact Katrina had and continues to have on New Orleans.
Excellent tour. We were very pleased with our guide. He was not only very personable, but very knowlegable. I think we saw all the highlights we wanted to see.
Joseph, our tour guide, was great and extremely knowledgeable! We were a little skeptical because we really wanted the post Katrina tour (didn't have enough people for that tour) but this tour had everything, including a lot of Katrina information.I highly recommend this company and especially Joe!!
This was a very interesting and informative tour. We can't say enough good about our guide, Stanley, who described the reasons for the destruction as well as the effects.
