Worth every penny! Great plantation tours and fabulous swamp ride - saw 4 alligators, even though it was a bit out of season. The experience guide new how to pick them out and bring the boat right up close. He entertained us with great stories of making a living in the bayou as well.
What a great trip! We took this in October with grandparents and a groups of grand kids (ages 3, 4, 7, 8). The boat ride was smooth and easy, the scenery was amazing. The kids really enjoyed seeing alligators up close and learning all about the bayou. Highly recommended if you want an easy, gentle boat ride through the swamps of Louisiana.
When we got home from our trip to New Orleans I asked my husband what his favorite thing we did was and he said,"The Airboat Tour!" I feel the same way~we did lots of different things and this was our second time in New Orleans so we have done lots of things but we both really liked seeing the gators, turtles, owls, etc. We had a small boat (there were 5 in our group and 1 other girl) and Richie was our guide and he was very personable and showed us and told us lots of interesting facts! We had beautiful weather and it was just a wonderful day to be with family and friends.
An excellent day. The tours of the Laura and Oak Alley plantations, which architecturally are quite different, revealed a great deal about life along River Road in the nineteenth century. The guides at both venues were excellent. They were both knowledgeable and interesting in their presentations. The highlight of the day, however, was the swamp tour by airboat. The bayous are both haunting and stunning. Our encounter with an alligator was amazing. Definitely recommended.
Going to two plantations and comparing the English and French way of doing thing was really interesting. Seeing the slave quarters was an eye opener. It was very rushed and the tour guide was a little snappy when the first plantation tour ran over time (not our fault).
The swamp tour was a scenic float through the swamp. We saw plenty of alligators.
Great tour, got to see so much
The tour was great. We really enjoyed it. I have a couple concerns however, if the alligators don't come out in the swamp until the warmth of the afternoon, why did we do the swamp in the morning? The van driver was great, but the van was extremely crowded. Twelve people DO NOT fit comfortably in the vans used. We found this to be true on both the tours we took with your company. I spent both tours hanging off the edge of my seat because the two already on the seat needed almost all the room. Not so much fun! Thank you.
Great tour! It did not seem like an all day tour, it went by so fast. The swamp adventure was so beautiful and interesting, and the plantations, each so different, were wonderful and both so full of our history. Loved it.
Great tour, the van driver was super friendly and gave us lots of history, the airboat ride was awesome, the guide was great. Definitely recommend this.
This was the best thing we did during our stay in NOLA. Ellen was great and our airboat operator, Steve, was terrific. He gave us considerable info about the bayous in Louisiana and we got to see lots and lots of alligators - even got to hold a baby one! Definitelybworth it to take a small boat. We got to go where the bigger boats couldn't.
Everything exceeded our expectations; the transportation, weather, fan boat, our guide, swamp, and alligators! Very enjoyable tour.
Had a great time! The Swamp Boat Adventure was great and spectacular! Plantation country was great with an exceptional guide! A trip to the "Old South". D.H.
What a wonderful time from the driver to the Swamp tour guide - Lil Lou! Everyone was knowledgeable, funny and just made us glad we chose this excursion.
We had a fabulous time on this tour. Our tour leader was informative and funny . The fact he was raised in the bayou made it even more entertaining. He had great stories and even jumped in the water to get a small alligator for us to see and hold. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone going to New Orleans.
So much fun and such a beautiful area!
