Long Island's Great South Bay Music Festival

Americana has experienced an exciting revival in recent years, and with that revival comes the re-invigoration of fun Americana-themed events like the Great South Bay Music Festival. Encompassing all things relating to American history, folklore, and cultural heritage, Americana has more recently become closely associated with a music movement, celebrating a pan-continental perspective on what truly defines American music.

The Great South Bay Music Festival showcases the spectrum of American music events over three days (July 15-17) and takes place in Patchogue, New York, located on Long Island about an hour and a half from Manhattan. From country to folk, delta blues to zydeco, and everything in between, the Festival features over 45 bands playing on three separate stages.

No great festival is complete without a wide selection of delicious eats from regions across the nation. It’ll certainly be difficult to decide between that spicy Creole crawfish or that nefarious chili cheese dog! And collectors will love the Artisan market, where vendors sell American-themed crafts and ephemera.

The Festival also offers a KIDZONE, complete with fun and educational offerings, including a “Looney Tunes Tek Tent” that offers activities and great prizes to young participants. Festival organizers work hard to ensure that there are activities for festival-goers of all ages.
