Overall the tour was fair, unless you are a super fanatic rapster you will not get much out of it. I was a little disappointed that the graffiti was all behind fences, I was under the impression from the description that we could have gotten up close and personal. Another thing not too happy that nothing was mentioned about lunch being an extra charge and that it had to be cash. The guide was knowledgable but in my opinion a bit rude, in fact they all were. Just a sugggestion: when you have only two seats left on the bus together and you have two people that were on time give them the seats together don't save them for the ones that are late!

Doing what: Harlem Hip-Hop Walking Tour

This was a stellar tour. Nelson was knowledgable and very passionate about his subject. I learned so much about the hip hop culture I can't pass by graffiti art now without feeling a new respect for it. My only criticism was the weather ; it poured rain.

Wow! JDL, GM Caz - SUPERB. I would recommend everyone who likes music to go on this tour. These two guys are fantastic. I had no idea about Hip Hop only what my son had told me. On the Christmas holiday to NY my husband, son and I went on the Hip Hop tour. My son is really into H.H. and he loved it, but me and my husband were enthralled. GM Caz we all love you and JDL. You made this tour special, special and special. Thank You. (hope cheque is in the post ha ha).

Loved the tour. Very entertaining and a personal approach. The trip I went on there were only two others and it was still very enjoyable. Tour guide was fantastic and very enthusiastic.

A thoroughly brilliant tour. Tour guides were the `real deal` and imparted their deep love of hip hop to us and took us deeper into the culture than would have been possible without people who lived and breathed it their whole lives. A very special da indeed and Much fun had!

Despite the cold, rainy day, the tour was great. The tour guide, JDL Wilson was the real deal. He was extremely knowledgeable, and was happy to answer any and all questions, making the tour interactive and fun!

This was excellent although the time that Viator gave us for the Walk was wrong, we were told 11.00am on Wednesday but when they didn't show up I rang to be told that the Tour wasn't until 1.00pm couldn't hang around so organised it for the next day which was 1.30pm. We met our guide "Reggie" and he gave us a great walk and showed us all around Harlem and gave us a good insight to Harlem, took us to Apollo Theatre and had a brief look around and then was very helpful in getting us back to our hotel. Very enjoyable except for the mixup with times as we had to get a taxi to the meeting point as didn't quite know where to go and this was a little costly but it worked out in the end and we were told we could get there by bus the next day

Note from Viator: Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate your feedback and are following up with our local supplier.

J.D.L. was the best. It was a really special tour. My 17 year old granddaughter loved it as well and I highly recommend it to everyone. Rosalie

Not being a HIP HOP fan I was dubious about the tour but went along because my partner and daughter really wanted to go.
JDL - what a star. Made HIP HOP come to life.
Would recommend this tour to any and every one

It was excellent to have our own guide and this made it a very personal experience. Our guide was not only knowledgeable, he had first-hand experience of the real roots of hip-hop, was funny and friendly. The places we visited were interesting - the Graffiti Hall of Fame, community gardens etc - and not touristy. We got to see some of the streets and sites of everyday Harlem with an entertaining guide. Two hours was perhaps a little long, but that may have been because it was 90 degrees !
