Participate as an Accomplice to the Big Apple
Written by AlyseInWonderland, USA, June 2011
Accomplice runs two shows, one in Lower Manhattan (which includes SoHo, Chinatown, Little Italy, and the Financial District) and another of the Village (in New York’s Greenwich Village). Tours are set up with groups of ten guests, and rather than having you meet at a pre-designated location, Accomplice organizers call you a day or two before the show with the meeting point (to add to the mystique!). As you traverse the streets you get to see some of the more off-the-beaten-path areas of Manhattan, encounter character actors, and get clues toward solving a mystery by the end of the tour.
Accomplice targets young adults in their 20’s and 30’s and schedules pit stops throughout the tour to grab snacks and, for those of legal drinking age, alcoholic beverages (though many Yelpers also recommend pre-gaming a bit for an even more enjoyable experience).
This event entails a lot of walking; guests should wear comfortable shoes. Advanced tickets are recommended to ensure a reservation and cost roughly $60. Though past participants remain universally mum on the details, the general consensus is that Accomplice is a must, whether you’re a visitor or call the Big Apple home.
