Lord of the Rings and Hobbiton Tours in New Zealand

This trip was excellent and so far has been one of the highlights of what has been a very good trip. I would highly recommed this

Great time! Hammond was a great guide who shared his knowledge working on the set!! Amazing scenery. Lots of stops to enjoy the amazing scenery and to take pictures. One of the best tours of my life!!

This trip was simply awesome. Excellent tour overall, great vistas, but the best part about the trip was our guide Dell. He took great care of us and is one of the best and funniest human beings with have ever met! Thanks Dell and Viator!! Loved it.

An early start ensured that we arrived at Hobbiton before the crowds, Our bus driver and the guide at Hobbiton were both excellent. Walking around Hobbition was delightful and lunch at The Shires was delicious. A short morning tea break, and an ice-cream stop on the way back to Auckland by 3 pm were both enjoyable. My only reservation would be that for those with mobility problems need to be aware that the walking on gravelled paths, and with some hills, might prove a little challenging.

It was a fantastic tour. The guide was very kind and her story was very interesting. We really enjoyed it. It was one of the best tours we've ever joined.

Excellent Tour and guide. We especially enjoyed the WELA Workshop tour and locations seen in the afternoon, an unexpectedly lovely lunch in a restaurant by the water. We got to see a lot of Wellington as well as LOTR sights. Highly recommend.

Excellent tour. The Driver/Guide is an asset to Bush and Beach who operate this tour on your behalf. She was helpful, Polite, knowledgeable and nothing appeared too difficult. The package was excellent with sufficient time to enjoy the day.

This was an awesome day! Hobbiton was great and the glow worm cave was amazing. I definitely recommend this tour. The only downside was there was a lot of bus changing and it was not always immediately clear where you needed to be. Despite that, both bus drivers were amusing and incredibly informative about New Zealand and LOTR trivia.

The whole experience was a positive one for our family (including a 13 and 10 year old). The driver, Wayne, from the moment he picked us up at our Auckland Hotel was excellent for the whole day. The tour guide at Hobbiton was exceedingly good. Having a small group 11 people all together meant our experience was a very intimate one. Fantastic life experience.

We were greeted by very friendly guide named Mike, although it was a rainy morning his enthusiam for the subject of the Lord of the rings tour was great. Being in a small group was also good, as at each site visited we could gather around Mike as he showed us vision on his ipad of the location as it was in the movie. There was also no other crowds at any of the locations. We enjoyed the morning tea supplied and fresh muffins. I would recommend this tour to anyone else visiting Wellington, as you got to see some lovely parks and a trip to the top of wellington's lookout, great views.

We really liked Hobbiton. The caves were too crowded for us, but still interesting. The first bus was great, but as we got moved around not all the buses were are nice as the first. Overall highly recommend.

Perfect day. Our guide Brian was excellent, very knowledgable and definitely went the extra mile. We could not fault anything. The forest trip and seeing the seals at Cape Palliser was a real hi light. Brian's driving was very safe and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed his company. We very much enjoyed this trip and would recommend it to others who want to see the glow worm caves and visit the shire and need to be able to do so in a one day trip from Auckland. Yes, we spent a lot of time on a bus. But that is what we expected, and our bus driver/tour guide did a great job keeping us informed about what we were seeing and about what the plans for each stop. If people have the time, there are many other things to see and do in the Rotorua area and perhaps an overnight tour might work better for them. We only had one day available following the completion of a cruise from Sydney to Auckland, and this tour worked perfectly for us!
