A ride on the Maid of the Mist steamboat is a must-do on a visit to Niagara Falls, especially for first timers. These brave little boats have been ploughing headlong into the Falls' misty veil since 1846. It's loud and wet and lots of fun.
Before you begin your ride on the Maid of the Mist, you’ll be given a large blue rain poncho, which is essential as you will get wet from the spray. Everyone heads for the boat's upper deck, but views from either end of the lower deck are just as good. Once leaving the dock, the boat slowly approaches Horseshoe Falls. Her starboard side comes closest to the falls, so the best views are on that side.
The Maid of the Mist then veers left and heads back to the dock. On its way back, she gives her passengers a sweeping panoramic view of the American Falls. You’ll want to stay on deck for the whole trip; if you go below deck, you’ll miss the action.

Doing what: Niagara Falls Day Trip from New York by Air
We had such a wonderful time and would highly recommend this trip. Our tour guide, Eduardo, was an angel and he made our trip so memorable and fabulous! He not only showed us where to go but also what to watch for and treated my 70 year old mother like a princess. Even though our flight was delayed due to weather, it couldn't erase the fantastic memories that we made and the happiness we felt all day. We can't thank you enough for making this trip to New York so special.

Doing what: Niagara Falls Adventure Pass
Very straightforward to use, the movie and interactive experience afterwards (niagara's Fury) was more for kids and would advise adults to skip it as it wasn't very informative or interesting. Maid of the mist was excellent as was beyond the falls. Was given a pass which was scanned for most activies. The ticket counter spaced out the tours and experienced no long lines or waits for activities. Also had use of wego buses, though never used them, everything is reasonably close if you like to walk.
