Due to the government shutdown Arizona memorial was closed but Missouri battleship was substituted and was excellent, Ernel the driver was very informative - fantastic
This is a wonderful tour. The bus driver was FANTASTIC. So informative, great joke teller and really, really looked after us. We were picked up at our hotel at the exact time we were told. Would recommend this tour and this company to everyone. It is a must do when you go to Honolulu.
Great day tour... Had a great guide as well Keano not sure how to spell is his name. He was very knowledgeable of the island, he was fun to hang out with.
The driver, MIchael, made the trip entertaining and informative.
Great tour. Not too long. Very informative, great way to see Honolulu when you first arrive. Guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. We totally recommend this tour to anyone. Sit on the top of the bus for the best views, wear a sunhat, sunscreen and bring a bottle of water. Beware, my visor flew off and is gone forever!
We loved the double decker and the tour . The only thing we would have changed was to give a little more time at Pearl Harbor, we felt a little rushed. Overall it was a fun experience and I would recommend it!
Had a good time on our tour with Nappy, very funny guy and very informative, the Arizona memorial is very well done, not too touristy, and a bit of a tour around Honolulu on the way home. Back by 2.30 so still time to shop and swim.
We enjoyed everything about this tour. Really an emotional day, especially since we went on 9-11 and my husband was a responder at the Pentagon that day plus his birthday is on Pearl Harbor Day.

This was our second tour with Gray Line within a week and I am beginning to think they have become too big and just don't know how to manage things. Once again, the destination was superb - a very moving memorial for USS Arizona and an interesting inspection of the USS Missouri. Our driver / guide kept us informed of the various landmarks and gave us some insight into Hawaiian culture and history. We were, however, treated like children on an excursion. We were on and off buses all day! Firstly our gude told us that we would have to line up to get our tickets but then miraculously advised us that he pulled some strings and got them all himself. Next we were told that we would have to go the USS Missouri site by shuttle, but because we were a big group he was going to see if the security would let him take us in - surprise, surprise - we were able to go in our bus; and same for about a dozen other tour buses we saw. I don't know who he was fooling. When we were on the Missouri, he kept herding us in a group while all we wanted to do was explore the ship on our own - too much information becomes boring at times. My husband kept referring to him as the "driver" (which he was, considering he was driving the bus) and he got quite annoyed at one stage and said "if you keep calling me a driver, I'll call you a tourist!" - not good PR. Anyway, I think I'll steer clear of Gray Line in future and try the smaller companies. My dissatisfaction isn't with the destinations of these tours, but rather the tour company itself.
This was a great overall tour of Honolulu with the best part being the Peal Harbor/Arizona Memorial stop. But, some of it went a bit too fast. Would have liked more time at the National Cemetery of the Pacific.
Under-delivered…. Bus driver was ~45 minutes late, and told us we were still "on time" for our tour. I found out later that meant we were still "on time" for the noon movie. However, we were rushed in that we didn't have time to see enough at Pearl Harbor. Even though we started the tour late, we were still expected to finish at the same time. Disappointing….you expect me to be on time, but you're not on time.
Seeing the Arizona was worth the trip and our driver Garfield was excellent with stories of Hawaii and the locations we stopped to visit. The all day drive was a little tireing.
Arizona Memorial was wonderful - the rest hard to see from bus, what the driver was pointing out up ahead of us - he did give some interesting facts to listen to, though
Although I've been to Hawaii a few times it was my first trip to Pearl Harbor which was amazing. My only negative comment would be that much more time is needed than the tour allows to really absorb everything there. I noticed people had on headphones and were talking a guided tour at their own pace. You would not have enough time to do this on the tour. Next time back to Hawaii I will definitely go back on my own.
This review is for the itinerary itself. First, we went to Pali Lookout, it was gorgeous and we took many photos there. Then, we were led to Pearl Habor/USS Arizona for 1.5 hour audio tour ($7/pp) recommended by our guide. My husband wished he could have gone into the USS Bowfin for a quick tour but because of our packed schedule, we had to get going to Byodo Temple (which we didn't care about in Hawaii to see). After the temple, we were being told by how good this place's macadamia nuts are so we bought a few bags there and went to Kuoala Ranch for so-so lunch. I understand that these places need tourist to stimulate their economy. But we could have spend our time better somewhere else where there are sea turtles or other natural habitat. This is just my personal preference for visiting Hawaii for the first time.
