One of the best theme parks in Orlando, Islands of Adventure is a first-class journey of rides and attractions. Here, superheroes zoom by on motorcycles, roller coasters whiz overhead, and plenty of rides will get you soaked. Five remarkable islands filled with all your favorite comic and cartoon heroes come to life on high-speed roller coasters, out-of-this-world children rides, and groundbreaking 3-D attractions. Go wild on the Hulk and Dueling Dragons rides, before finishing on the state-of-the-art Amazing Adventures of Spider Man.
One of the best sites for kids is the Mystic Fountain, where a talking fountain delivers a sassy chat with children, while soaking them with his waterspouts when they least expect it. At Seuss Landing, kids can frolic in the interactive play area with squirty triggers, or take a gentle train ride above Seuss Landing on the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride. Take a break in one of the many on-site “island” restaurants or browse the shops for souvenirs.

I lived in Orlando for ten years, and had a year pass to Universal Studios / Island of Adventure for upwards of 6 years. The only reason I let it lapse is because I moved across country. I absolutely love Universal and IOA - and I can't wait to go back and see Harry Potter now that they've opened the new Island there. Roller Coasters, good beer, good times, lots of laughs, the employees are generally relaxed and very funny - they poke fun at the customers (all in good humor) and present a really nice atmosphere for hanging out. I can't say enough nice things about all of my memories in Universal and IOA. If you're young at heart, and looking for more of a day of thrills and fun - then you won't be disappointed. And BTW - don't miss the Beetlejuice show! It's campy - but totally fun, and the singers / dancers are REALLY good! Continue Reading »
Practical Info
Universal’s Island of adventure is located north of the International Drive resort area. The resort is directly accessible from Interstate-4 via Exit 74B, which empties eastbound onto Universal Boulevard and westbound onto Hollywood Way. Its five 'islands' include Marvel Super Hero Island, featuring The Amazing Adventures of Spider Man (which really is pretty amazing); the dino-happy Jurassic Park; the ersatz-mystical Lost Continent; newest attraction The Wizarding World of Harry Potter; and the kid-friendly Toon Lagoon and Seuss Landing.
