Aboard the Orlando Titanic Experience
Written by AlyseInWonderland, USA, June 2011
Titanic The Experience has successfully re-created every aspect of the famous cruise ship from the Grand Staircase to the Captain's Bridge with incredible historic accuracy. Spanning 20,000 square feet, the museum seeks to completely immerse visitors in what it was like to be a traveler aboard the Titanic.
Trained character actors in period costume portray famous Titanic passengers and lead guided tours of the museum, while regaling guests with stories of passengers and crew aboard for the ship’s first (and only) departure.
Conveniently located on International Drive, just a short distance from Walt Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios, the Titanic Experience hosts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year from across the globe.
History buffs will love the plethora of one-of-a-kind artifacts culled from prestigious private collections. But for those of you more interested in the ship’s more recent cinematic prestige, the museum also houses memorabilia from the award-winning film, including costumes worn by DiCaprio himself.
Wander through full-scale recreations of the Boiler Room and a First Class Suite. Take a walk on the Promenade Deck with views over the Atlantic Ocean that make you really feel like you’re traveling on the open seas. Titanic The Experience is open 356 days a year from 9am-9pm.
